CORRECTION: brady willing to accept 1 game for failure to cooperate is UNTRUE

I hope that's the case but I don't think either speculative scenario holds more weight than the other

why not? it's all the NFL has been doing..........paying lip service with their offer

It wouldn't be a bad deal. If true, I think Brady and his team coming to the realization that is almost impossible to overturn an arbitrators decision, no matter how bad and unfair the process was. Their thought process is probably, OK we will take one game admit no-fault, instead of risking getting stuck with four games. And if it decision has to be made by judge Berman it's highly likely the ruling sticks even if Berman disagrees

Schefter says Brady wiling to accept "some form of suspension according to league sources."

According to league sources? Why should we believe anything leaked by "league sources?"
Thats the key phrase 'league sources'' we know how honest and accurate "league sources" have been. lying scum.

There are three reasons I give this any credence:
  • Kessler's admission of some failure to cooperate.
  • Because it's Schefter.
  • Brady went to NYC to try to cut a deal and is reported to be angry that it wasn't possible. I.e., he's not taking the super hardest possible line.
That said, on an even-money bet I'm guessing t

-Just because Kessler admitted that he could have handle it better doesn't mean Brady would accept being over punished for it, especially given that he never had to give up the phone, wells is on record saying he didn't need the phone and when they offered them the stuff they wanted ****dell said "it would take too long"

-Schefter is quoting "league sources", not "nflpa sources" or "sources close to Brady". If you aren't taking "league sources" with a huge grain of salt then you haven't been paying attention

-Brady went to New York yesterday because that's what he was advised to do. As for him being angry, it's not because a settlement didn't happen, it's because ****dell wants him to accept a multi million dollar fictional report that had findings that Brady denied under oath.

I don't even understand why Brady would even offer this ? After last Friday's filings by Kessler, this would take away any ground Brady might have gained last week (Berman basically saying there is no proof and the filings). This is a show of weakness, I wonder if this sways Berman's thought process. Not a good move in my opinion if this is true.

if brady accepts a 1 game suspension it means the NFL won.
I agree, at this point accepting any suspension is an admission of guilt IMO.. Whether it's worded that way or not.. A fine on the other hand would be different IMO.

"league sources" Ya, I am just going to take this with a grain of salt.

This smacks of an NFL leak. I wish someone in the Brady camp would refute this, if it's untrue. This runs contrary to Zolak last night. Even with language clearing him of guilt, in the almighty court of public opinion - he's guilty: HE DESTROYED IS PHONE! DEFLATOR! WHERE IS DORITIO DINK!

I would assume that the judge has mandated that any settlement negotiations are to remain confidential between the parties. Despite this, "league sources" are now telling Schefter and, apparently, Florio what Brady will accept. It's pretty self-serving for the NFL to suggest that Brady is willing to bend here.

Settlement negotiations often involve the mediators and the parties floating a lot of hypothetical deals. If I do this, would you be willing to do that? The mediator may do this without an actual commitment from the party involved to follow through. Imagine this - Berman says to NFL -would you consider a one game suspension with no admission of guilt - as a trial balloon. Commissioner Scheisskopf and the Goon Squad think - aha! Brady is willing to take a suspension. Quick, someone call Adam Schefter.

Schefter says "some form of suspension" which Florio has morphed into "one game." That's all pretty vague. Who's to say Brady didn't offer one of those bogus NCAA suspensions - yeah, I'll sit out the first quarter of the next game.

This sucks.

Didn't Favre only get a fine for not cooperating? Something stinks here

League source - Hopefully Berman takes notice.

if it is true.....and that's IF, the prudence is in closing the book on this

holding your breath until you get what you think is right does not have a high rate of success

I suppose that depends on what you think is right. ;)

Explain to me in detail how accepting a one game suspension when you haven't done anything and when there is zero proof of any wrongdoing is not admitting guilt.

Kontra-

This happens in the justice system all the time. Even if someone is not guilty the prosecutor can pile on 25 different charges so that they can scare you into accepting a plea deal rather than taking a huge risk.

Put me in the "This sounds like BS" camp.

He has admitted guilt in not cooperating with the investigation. That is not admitting guilt of the bogus infraction.

This would be a terrible concession for the player's association and I think that "league sources" is probably the same guy who gave Mortenson all of his accurate info so I don't think so.

Take the game. At this point being caught up in this sh!t show isn't worth it. It's a joke that you would even have to fight this thing regardless. This story stopped being about right and wrong a long time ago. Take the game and cut ties with the NFL . That means go marshawn lynch on this league and these bozos. Banner goes up game 2, that makes a pretty big statement. Let's give all those other fans something to really hate.
