NE trades for TE Asante Cleveland from 49ers

Anyone know anything about him? What type of TE is he? Big bodied move guy, another inline blocker? Doesn't seem too physically gifted but I'm only going off numbers, never heard of the guy.

Loyko says we were high on him as a UDFA and offered a bigger UDFA deal to him.

I'm guessing he's shown up on special teams in a big way...

That's what I'm reading, too, but how many pure ST guys are we willing to keep? Already have Slater and Ebner who never see the field, it's possible Ebner gets canned in favor of Wilson and adding TE+ST depth.

Kind of a strange move, without knowing much of the guy. We seem pretty OK at TE and if it weren't for injury concerns I'd honestly be comfortable approaching 2015 like we did 2012 with only a pair of TE's on the roster. The rest simply won't have room to contribute outside of goalline situations.

Anyone know Chandler's injury?

Maybe Cleveland played the trombone in college.

As with Groy, Cleveland has a better chance to contribute to the 2015 patriots that Devey.
