Robert Griffin III: 'I feel like I'm the best quarterback in the NFL'

I'm glad he sucks. I'm not a Cowboy hater anymore, but I kind of want the Eagles to own that division for awhile. I like the Eagles. I root for them to win, even though I could care less if they don't.

Even Rodgers, who is somewhat ****y, wouldn't proclaim himself "the best".

The best players know that actions speak louder than words. Say little and play great. Some of these QBs seem to want to say they're great but play little.

Yeah but when Rodgers loses game apparently they beat themselves.

I don't think Jump ball Joe is all that good. He just likes to throw it up and hope his receiver fights for the ball or draw a pass interference. He admits that he knew Harmon was cheating to one side but decided to give Smith a shot. That's almost like Matthew Stafford and throwing it to Calvin johnson while being tripled covered. Better than RGIII for sure. But not that great of a QB.

FWIW, I have no problem with RGIII saying what he said. You can't be a QB in the NFL without an ego. You just can't. The great ones, however, are the ones who suppress it in public and only use it when it's appropriate. TFB, Rogers, even Flacco know this. RGIII, not so much.

But if it helps him make it through each day, then let him have at it. Self-hypnosis might be his only hope at this point.

Oh, he has quite the ego, and has for some time, I remember a few subtle red flags leading up to that draft and several big ones afterwards. Long story short, he doesn't take instruction, and why should he, he's already the best, right?

He thinks he knows better than his coaches, I even remember him saying "my dad is my real coach", I'm pretty sure Mike Shanahan didn't take too kindly to that, especially given the fact that Griffen was already ignoring him at every turn.

One of the keys to improving is actually taking instruction, TFB sought out advice from Tom Martinez from when he was in high school until Martinez passed, and then TFB sought out advice from Tom House. I've never seen anything close to that kind of humility from Griffin (I refuse to refer to him as RG3).

I can actually see that, they have the offensive talent to beat anyone but not if they get in their own way.

I actually prefer THIS comment to his "if the coaching staff wants me to be average, I'll be average" (not sure of exact quote)... Complete BS, throwing everyone under the bus, pompous self-absorbed ***.

He was nothing other than a revelation for a year, like the wildcat offense. Then, things got real.

The best QB in the NFL makes this fashion statement.. silently.

I'm old school - if you're the best let your body of work speak up.

It did for Tiger Woods.

Someone outside of PF said Kobe and Shaq were reminding us they were the best in their day. Even when you are the best, I prefer those that just don't talk about it.

Thinking the same thing. I mean, outside of sports what if a reporter, actor, your network admin, or the president said he was the best in the world. It would not go over well. But some of theses guys think they can talk before they do something.
..and I dont see Brady saying Im the best in the NFL, he has class and maturity, and he is the best, lol.

I only put Flacco because he talked out of turn,,,,, and hes to tall.... and I think everyone knows elite quarderbacks are 6ft and shorter, because you cant see where their looking over the lineman....and their tiny stubby arms release the ball faster...they eat less...they can see the names on the backs of the OL clearly....they dont intimidate the running backs..... errrr anyway its a semi- scientific theory of mine.

And Roger Gödel thinks he is the best Commissioner the NFL could have.

Mental illness is not a laughing matter.......
Don't understand your need to conflate the NFL Commissioner with one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century. Goodell clearly is not in Gödel's league as an intellect, and Gödel never exhibited the character deficiencies that have defined Goodell's tenure.

We can all thank Muhammed Ali for the boorish bluster of athletes over the past 50 years.

There's a whole lot of crazy going on in this thread. There's nothing wrong with what the kid said. He's wrong, because nobody's better than the G.O.A.T., but that's the kind of approach you want from your QB.

Y'all can have the guys who "just want to prove I belong here". I'll take the guys who are "the best decision this organization's ever made".

And it's Luck > Flacco, by a mile, BTW.

I understand your point about what you want in your QB, though I don't completely agree with it because Griffin has already shown that he isn't close to being the best QB in the league.

I do agree completely, however, that Luck > Flaccid.

Wow alot of love in this thread for Jump Ball Joe Flacco. He's decent and a patriots kryptonite but the dude is way to inconsistent week to week vs the elite guys.

They left out the last part of his quote. His full quote: I feel like i'm the best qb in the NFL at getting injures.
You called it...

On the fourth series, Griffin got sacked on consecutive plays. On the second sack, his fumble was recovered by Gabe Wright of the Lions at the Redskins’ 11-yard line.

To make matters worse, the Redskins announced Griffin was then evaluated for a right-side stinger and possible concussion. He was cleared to return to the game but wasn’t going to return; Griffin finished 2-of-5 passing for 8 yards.
