She can just write from the hospital or from home, who cares. Watch the games on TV or even just guess what happens this season. It will still be a grade above a guy who would better suited as Alex Jones' intern.

Hey now.. You're insulting Alex Jones' interns.. They have more credibility than MCI..

Yeah, but at least they had integrity to begin with... And as many have said, Volin is rebutting someone's criticism of his work by saying "well someone else at the place you work, did some bad work, while you didn't work there, sooooo you can't talk"

No different than people pointing out about Borges, and Barnacle at the Globe in regards to Volin..

I don't think anyone has to bring Borges into the conversation to discredit Volin. He practically discredits himself.

The sad thing is that I think the Globe likes the controversy Volin creates. He takes attention off the flaming pile of turd that is the Boston Red Sox and it makes the Patriots look bad.
Of course they like, you have threads about him on here, 50 pages long, who wouldn't like that sort of publicity.

Wasn't SMY sent to the woodshed for tweeting phantom Patriot trades during the draft this year. Combine SMY's "First before fact" reporting with Volin's "Tomase or bust" conspiracies, it appears Globe reporting is desperate to gain footing in today's digital media scene. I guess solid, fact based reporting is no longer a requirement. It's a fu**ing clown show

Felger backs up Volin on the whole the league holding back something theory. Felger's reasoning: Wells held back the destruction of Brady's telephone out of the Wells Report and waited to spring it on the appeal day. He says that false fact all the time and no one has ever corrected him. He doesn't realize that Brady's camp didn't inform Goodell this until days before his appeal.

I was told by an anonymous source that he had personally bent Felger over a table during a high school lunchroom fight and shoved a cheese stick up his tailpipe.

I didn't believe him initially so I called the school to confirm the story and it turned out to be in fact true that they do serve cheese sticks for lunch.

Well, there you go. o_O

I've kind of always disliked Matt Taibbi. I remember he did a piece on Goldman Sachs a while back that may have had some truth to it but overall he displayed a very poor grasp of the financial industry.

Still, he's spot on in this instance.
Do you work in said industry? Taibbi is usually quite well informed.

No further support needed...

Yes. There were quite a few glaring errors in that piece.
Since I can barely balance my checkbook, I'd be close to the last person to know. I may be just a little too trusting.

I'm willing to dismiss her misfires and grade her well above Scoops Volin for two reasons. 1) She doesn't have it out for the team. 2) Her profile pieces especially are usually pretty good (LaFell and Matty P from last year come to mind); and she in general is a decent writer. But of course, you could have one giant run-on sentence for your article and it would be a step above Volin's thought process.

Lol, the first time I read this I read "strippers". I was like......o_O?
If BB walked into a strip club they'd nail him for that too.

Exactly. IMO she doesn't have an agenda or aspires to be a media whore like Trollin. I put Karen Guerigian in the same category.

Good read, thanks. But why does he assume Fraudger is going to win?

Most people in the media assume Roger's going to win, because that's what all the legal 'experts' on ESPN were saying for the past few months. The only people who think Brady has a shot here are the people who are actually following this case closely. Multiple of my friends out here have asserted that they heard that Brady has a 0% chance of winning, and I pointed all of them to Michael McCann's tweets estimating that the odds are about 60-40 in Brady's favor. They were shocked, and even then they just kinda settled on "well I guess I dunno what to believe".

Media narrative is a weird thing. Once people's opinions have been formed, the best you can hope for--even if you present them with incontrovertible fact proving that they were lied to--is them deciding that the waters are murky, nobody knows the truth, and everyone involved is wrong.

There are very few times that I've ever seen a media narrative get outright debunked (Richard Jewell was a big one, Duke lacrosse was another), and even those are because of media narratives countering back in the other direction. And the media narrative here is "even if Goodell was horribly biased, courts will honor his CBA authority". As much as Taibbi has clearly followed the case and knows exactly how Roger is spinning lies, I doubt he's religiously following McCann, Milstein, Stradley and Wallach on twitter like we all are. As a result, he probably doesn't realize that Brady's odds are probably a good deal better than "3 out of 68", or whatever number the media at large is reporting lately to show that Brady won't win.

Maybe the baby can scribble something. It would be an improvement over MCI.
