I suspect that you are correct unless Wendell starts at LG and Jackson at RG.

RT - S.Vollmer, C.Fleming
RG - T.Jackson, R.Wendell
C - B.Stork, R.Wendell
LG - J.Kline, S.Mason
LT - N.Solder, M.Cannon

Why would they cut Wendell?

I'm not saying that he will. I'm just looking at ways to figure out the final roster.

The point was that, as of this moment, they don't look to have a backup center if they cut Wendell.
I have to disagree.. I thought that Andrews played exceptionally well considering his status as a UDFA and the fact that he was thrust in at the last minute. The only bad play I saw was when he and or the RG failed to pick up the delayed blitz and the MLB was in unmolested. That's a play that has troubled each of the last 4 centers except Stork.

Mason has minimal pass blocking skills. I think that it's possible that Wendell will tried at LG.

This is a false narrative. It's not that he has minimal pass blocking skills. It's that his skills weren't used a lot at Georgia Tech. They need to be refined, but he has pass blocking skills..

I was disappointed in the lack of reps for Groy. You trade a talent like Wells for someone like that, you expect him to get more than 3rd string reps. Not only that, he did pretty poorly with those reps.

Exactly. This is like saying "Calvin Johnson has minimal pass-catching skills".

Wasn't Shaq Mason a Center in college? If Stork got hurt, move Mason over. Then bring in a backup Guard. It's easier to find a decent backup Guard, than a backup Center.

I would have liked to see more from Groy too. But he's only been in the system less than a week.

I don't think he was, but he's being projected as one and worked there. I could be wrong, I read something.

I do not like the idea of Kline be a starter at all, id much rather have Wendell start at LG

Based on Wendell playing LG last season in place of an injured Connolly on several occasions it seems likely to me that he would start there this season.

The belief that Kline would start over Wendell is actually laughable in my opinion. Wendell is a solid NFL lineman who has been a starter for 3 seasons, Kline is a fringe roster player.

It is unlikely in my opinion but Cannon and Fleming are both options as well.

Mason was a RG in college. Scouts projected him as an OC during the draft because of his size.

I spent the majority of my time watching Mason thursday night. We'll need to see him against better competition but if game one was any indication of his game, they have a pro-bowl level player as a rookie.

david andrews will be just fine as backup
I dont think there is much evidence to support that, I expect Wendell will be a starting guard so it wouldn't suprise me if they carry a third center (if we count Wendell).

we are talking bout 3string backup on PS if we assume that Wendell is fine and he wont be on PUP list.
And i think that pats tried Andrews on different spots.
Thats way i am saying he ll be fine as backup. cause someone posted that we dont have backups behind Wendell and Stork.

Mason is just as scout wrote bout him. Pro bowler in run game and pass protection is in learning mode, so i am sceptical bout Mason being fine starting in first games but with proper coaching in few years he could be Logan Mankins who?
ANd dont get it why is he undersized for G, he is the same size as Wendell.

Wendell is going to start somewhere on the interior. Now that Connolly is gone, he is invaluable. My gut says Jackson will start, and mason will essentially redshirt....with the exception of goaline/injury situations. Shaq will be what we all hoped Cannon would be.....

Man, he gets his big @$$ around the edge quickly and walls off 3 guys. Kinda looks like bowling pins going down. Definitely pro-ready in the run game.

Notice Develin sit on that CB? :D
