Globe Troll gets quote from unnamed owner that there is more evidence of cheating not released

If there is more evidence of the Patriots guilt that the NFL hasn't released, I have some idea what it might be.

The NFL had the refs set the air pressure at the top of the legal range (or even higher) to bait the ball boys into letting some air out. That would give them indisputable proof that the balls didn't naturally deflate, but it would also be damning for the NFL.

/wild speculation

No way that's left out of the report

.....which some people on this board believe that is exactly what they did during the Jets 16psi game.

An unnamed owner told me something interesting about Ben.

He said, "Ben frequents fields and parks where there are lots of children. He often gets awfully close to children, sometimes in an overtly creepy way."

I guess I could add context to how this statement came up or any follow up questions. I'll just let this inflammatory statement stand on its own.

If the NFL has to lie about what's in the report, they haven't left out anything that is incriminating on its face.

I honestly feel guilty for not paying more attention to this or taking complaints by Saints more seriously. It's important to stay informed and I didn't do it because it wasn't my team. Not good.

Bountygate was a travesty of a miscarriage of justice, almost exactly the same as Deflategate. The NFL repeatedly made misleading leaks and later even on the record lies to the media, and members of the media never really seemed to catch on that they were being duped. I guess because if you are in charge of a multibillion dollar business, why would you outright fabricate a story about having evidence implicating one of your own employees in a serious offense? But Goodell and the league office proved that they will undermine their own business for the purpose of... I don't even know, demonstrating that they're tough on (alleged) rule breakers whether or not they can actually prove rules were broken? I have no effing clue why they have done this multiple times. It's weirdly McCarthyist. It makes no sense.

Lying in court is potentially a disbarable offense for a lawyer. If Nash is caught lying, he can be brought up for an ethics violation in front of the bar and can get anything from censure to suspension to outright disbarment.

Thanks for that information. If this is the case, then obviously Nash is at the very least not aware of any evidence that would directly implicate Brady in a ball deflation scheme.

I would have phrased it, "It is well known around Boston that Ben routinely frequents fields and parks..."

Yeah I've had people debate with me before using the "maybe there's more evidence" angle. I will never believe that. Who is being protected? The NFL would allow this story to explode thanks to leaked, and never corrected, false information, which turned Brady and the Pats into criminals overnight, but they're being protected now? Not buying it.

Stupid. If the league had more evidence and any concern about public backlash against Brady they would have handled this in a much quieter fashion. They would have sat Brady down and said 'OK, here's what we got. Here's how we want to handle this' and Brady would have capitulated.

Guys. To me, it would make so much sense that the information volin is taking about is other accusations where there is no proof. So in essence its more garbage meant to smear the patriots but with no actual evidence backing it up

This is probably being said to other owners that are pissed that the NFL has dogshit on Brady to keep them on their side. There's nothing but BB playing mind games with the rest of the league, half of them are defeated before they take the field.

That original quote from the unnamed owner doesn't even state that they have any evidence. It says:

“Not all of the facts are out there”

He never says they have any evidence of any facts, he just assumes there are facts because:

“We don’t even know how long this has been going on.”

So he assumes that Patriots have cheated so he assumes facts must exist, but he also admits they don't know how long it has been going on, which means they really don't have any evidence or they would know how long it has been going on.

It's insane really, and perhaps even more insane to make the leap from this quote to the belief that new evidence will eventually come out.

Volin wins the Tomase Award for journalistic integrity. It comes with a one way ticket to Boca Raton Florida for his assignment with the Palm Beach Post covering FAU football.

It's sh!t like this that that might put a hair up the azz of any news junkie judge.

The NFL is truly stoopid. They are behaving like teenagers who just keep digging their hole deeper when you try to dish out some discipline to them. Can't wait for Roger to scream, "you're not the boss of me!"

Goodell to Berman after the suspension is vacated: "you're not my real dad!"
