My opinion: Jeff Pash will be the first one fired

It's nice to speculate about Goodell getting a well-deserved firing (no doubt accompanied by an ill-deserved golden parachute). But I think Pash is much more likely to go first, for several reasons:
  • Goodell and the owners alike can blame-shift bad legal and quasi-legal decisions to him.
  • Kraft already has done a bit of that blame-shifting.
  • The league's recent hiring of a COO was viewed as a demotion for Pash.
  • The players surely hate Pash and would be glad to see him go.
  • While Goodell gets credit -- deservedly or otherwise -- for various positive financial developments, Pash's area has had almost nothing go right for a couple years (specifically, since the latest CBA negotiation concluded).
Pash is probably putting out feelers about a career change already.

Agree that Pash is a likely early target.

But, Goodell could have stepped in at any moment and made this situation better or conducted things through the back channels. This whole affair might have started with Kensil, but Goodell's stench is everywhere to be found.

Plus, as the sole arbitrator of the NFL*, he overstepped his bounds one again. If the owners think we'll accept Pash as the scapegoat, they're not thinking too clearly either.

Dont give a **** what happens to him . Want brady free first.

If Pash were a NASCAR crew boss ....

He had the wrong tires on the car with a badly tuned suspension for that race days track .;)

Seriously there needs to be a panel that is 50/50 NFL and NFLPA with a neutral party to oversee possible serious player issues without wasting money on Ted Wells and Exponent types of rodents. These issues ... especially the Rice and Peterson cases can easily have solutions with level headed debate that best serves the NFL brand.
