If i were in bradys position i would retire before i acquiesced. I could ride off into the sunset with 4 super bowls and three super bowl mvps. I believe my retiring would be seen as prof that i was innocent and that i had integrity.

I understand your point but retiring could also be perceived by the anti-Brady crowd as "running" and not facing certain punishment like a man.

Yeah it Could go that way with the biggest haters, but nothing would convince them anyways. and i would have the satisfaction of leaving on a high note. i don't care about the average fan of the jest, bills fins, denver etc. and what they think.

We are talking about a LA stadium talk. Kraft is not going to screw himself over to get Goodell. This move is big for him and the future of the league. Doesn't mean that things are forgiven between Kraft and Goodell.

Kraft is going to have to wait to get Goodell. He is going to have to slowly build a coupe. Him taking his ball and going home will only make it that much tougher. He needs to build up his power and behind the scenes turn people against Goodell.

While the entire world is discussing this nonsense with Brady, no one pays any attention to the NFL's attempt to fleece the taxpayers of CA....well played NFL.

Is it?

I hear that a lot, but LA hasn't had NFL football in damn near 20 years, and I think those have been the most profitable 20 years in league history.

I don't think it will affect the league or Kraft personally much at all, unless it's an expansion team.

Are you kidding me? Each team that moves to LA will likely have to pay something like $200 million in relocation rights to the league. That is like $11-13 million in Kraft's pockets.

So what he makes in a quarter on gamedays?

there is another status conference on the 19th and the judge will see if there has been any progress. if not he will make a ruling by the 4th of september. no real court proceedings except for maybe oral argument on the cross motions before him.
The oral arguments will be on the 19th I believe.

It confounds me to think an innocent man should agree to some punishment. I didn't know this was Russia.
It happens literally countless times every day in this country.

When is the meeting that is open to the public?

If he retires then NY wins. They were successful in getting Brady out of the AFC East.

Too bad Geno would be out for 10 weeks.

Steph Stradley, one of the biggest drumbeaters for "Berman really wants a settlement", is reminding folks on Twitter that this does NOT mean he expects the sides to meet in the middle. Indeed, she's suggested that means Berman wants the NFL to capitulate.

Judge Berman has never ordered the two sides to negotiate. He has requested that they try to reach a settlement before their court dates.

The request is as good as an order, in practice, but it's an order to TRY, not an order to succeed.

So I'm agreeing with you more than not.

Good news but what makes her say that?

Well hopefully they matter now because they sure haven't mattered over the past 7 months.
Well, the main difference is, it's not up to the NFL anymore.

People here are trying to read the tea leaves, and you can't really blame them for that. The problem is that, like everyone else, they are reading way too much into them.

At first I was pretty disheartened by Berman's insistence on these good-faith talks, because it means that he is not understanding the issue here and that a middle-ground is simply not possible. The fundamental issue is reputation and Brady's innocence. Brady/NFLPA can not give in to any suspension. Maybe I didn't give Berman enough credit and he knows Brady cannot and will not accept anything short of a full removal of the suspension. Perhaps he actually is expecting the NFL to capitulate. This could be Berman's message to the NFL that if this goes to court they're not going to like the outcome.
