Point Blank: if this ends poorly are you done with football?

We root, arguably, for the most admirable and dominant Dynasty in the History of my favorite Sport, led by perhaps the greatest Head Coach of all Time and the greatest and most unimpeachably admirable QuarterBack in History. No Fan or Professional who themselves have any Integrity or Intelligence considers Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and this extraordinary Dynasty anything but The Gold Standard of Integrity.

Rooting for this Dynasty has given us more Pride and Joy than rooting for any of our other Teams in any Sport at any Time. And you're seriously asking if we should abandon them???

Gentlemen: If some ScumBag President and ScumBag Congress conspire to do Evil in the name of America's Government, you speak against them and if you can you act against them.

You do not abandon America, herself.

I believe Brady is innocent. Tanguay has come out and said he's guilty.

I want Tom exhonerated. I think Kraft made a HUGE blunder by capitulation. I don't hate him because of that. He was double-crossed by the most evil, back-stabbing lying snake in sports.

I hope Roger gets whats coming to him. Removal. My bullseye for this whole mess is aimed squarely at him.

And I'm not going to stop cheering and rooting on for my favorite team just because that a-hole is trying to stick it to us. On the contrary and to the total opposite of that idiot Tang-wipe, I'm even more ferverent in supporting my team now more than ever.

I'm referring more to the fact that a couple of weeks ago you were calling those who were upset with Kraft " Gödel supporters, " and are now calling some of the longest term hard core Patrit fans here "fairweather" etc etc. Believe it or not people have a right to be both seriously pissed off and disgusted at the way the Patriots have been treated, and the mockery that this league regime had been making of the league and game, and the fact that you don't share their outrage doesn't in any way make you a better fan. If they were talking about quiting on the team because of performance you might have an argument, but calling fans who have supported them for over 50 years "fairweather" because they are no longer willing to watch the league trash them and label them cheaters year after year is crap. Football was my favorite sport for years and years and no longer is, that's not because of the Patriots, who have been exceptional , it's because of the league and losers who run it, and because hockey is simply a better more exciting game to watch, so I can certainly relate to the antipathy many are now feeling to the sport, even though I'm not ready to go there I'm terms of turning it off yet. There are some real fairweather fans who trill this forum but guys like Pissah and 1960's Pats fan aren't among them and acting like they are because they are sick of this crap is garbage imo.

I'm as pissed off and disgusted as anybody at this hit-job Roger's pulled.

To me it's time to back your team harder than ever, not tuck tail and run because they're getting railroaded.

When the going get's tough the tough show their colors and stand firm in their beliefs. I'm not the type to cut and run and abandon ship at the first sign of trouble. That's just me.

I guess it's the knee-jerk over-the-top reactions I see that trouble me. This story ain't over yet.

To me, he absolutely destroyed the reputation of the Patriots now twice

Our Reputation remains 100% Pure amongst all men and women of Intelligence & Integrity.

And their opinions are the only ones that will ever matter.

While true OTG, those people are unfortunately few and far between, and even some of them have had their opinions swayed due to this latest debacle.

In general though, I agree that scouts and coaches in the know still respect the Patriots and the way they do things. That said, there are also some who now believe that part of that success is due to cheating/pushing the rules, and that is quite unfortunate.

Its the 11th hour of this entire deflategate fiasco and there is still yet hope that there might yet be vindication. After 3 months of absolute crap since the Wells Report dropped the tide has finally shifted in the national media regarding everything. Back in May where it seemed like everything was ruined there is now room for optimism.

At the same time we are witnessing the NFL act in perhaps the most openly and shockingly corrupt manner I have ever seen a multi billion dollar company act. And yes, that includes Oil conglomerates, banking institutions, multinational corporations and the like because they are usually much better at hiding their evil from the public eye. Whether its through sheer incompetence or arrogance the NFL is being plainly open about how its acting. Its of course why so many national media people are now turning to Brady's side. But here's the scary part, none of it might matter. The NFL, and Goodell, might get away with this scott free because of the possibility that a judge rules in their favor because of a shockingly godawful CBA.

For me, I think its safe to say that I am staking my final bit of interest in the sport on the results of this case. If the suspension is vacated then I can breath easily for the first time in months. If it's not, I honestly think I'm done with the game. I don't even know if I would be able to stomach watching any game again, even with Brady and Belichick still in the game, if this sort of blatant corruption is allowed to win.

This is how I feel. I can't get excited about the season unless Brady is cleared, and if he isn't, I'm not sure what I'll do. I did not watch the Hall of Fame game and I am on the fence about watching the Packers pre-season game on Thursday. Usually I would be all fired up and I'd watch every second of the game, until the last whistle, with all the scrubs. I've already said I am not going to opening night unless Brady is on the field. If he isn't there and the Robert Bumbledore Kraft raises the banner without him, that would just be the worst slap in the face to me as a loyal fan. I'm hoping this federal judge saves my fandom, but I'm an attorney and I have no illusions about federal judges. Most of them are looking to dispose of any case in front of them and won't hestitate to say, you are bound by this agreement your union signed, and that's it. Hoping for a good outcome, but afraid we'll get the worst, as we have during this whole corrupt process.

Point blank: NO

Only a fairweather johnny-come-lately person would respond to the contrary.

I've suffered through a 1-15 and a pair of 2-14's. I guess I'm just not that fickle.

Seriously? You need to be told why your post is disliked?

My rule of thumb is if your going to dislike or disagree with someone then post and explain why.

I could care less about negative ratings and all that. Whatever.

My point is I'm not going to stop watching football and let it be dependent on the outcome of this particular case. I didn't stop watching when the spygate crap happened, and I won't no matter what happens now.

I'll watch the SB and playoff games no matter who's in it.

I still love the game itself.

To me "ending poorly" is Brady caving and therefore giving the world a tangible reason to believe that he is a cheat. That would be an awfully bitter pill to swallow.

The judge ruling against Brady despite his proclamations of innocence is not a great scenario but it is a lot better than the above.

They don't need a "tangible reason". They already believe it. The damage has been done by Kensil and his minions. Tom's reputation has been irreversibly tarnished which is why if there isn't a miraculous reversal of fortune that I am done with this league (at least until the Jets cabal are replaced).

I agree with everything in the first paragraph and most of the second. For me the Celtics of the 60's are still the top team and Bill Russell is still the top player.

As for the comparison to America herself, I look at the NFL more like Germany with Hitler in control. If there was some way for NFL fans to vote out Goody and the Jesters they would have been gone a long time ago. They manage the NYFL the same way that their favorite team is managed.

At what point does the altering of the outcome of games on the field become important? If they're willing to go to this extreme where will it stop? Or will it? How much have they already affected games on the field? Are you seriously asking if we should support that???

Right it comes down to whether or not it seems like actual games/playoff outcomes are being influenced by league office intervention. If it reaches that point in my perception, I am DONE.

It has NOTHING to do with the Patriots 53 & HC.

By suspending Brady over nothing the league office already has influenced actual game outcomes.

Yes. I like to know what another persons opinion is so I can figure out if it has merit. I can absorb insight that I may not have considered or I can just agree to disagree respectfully.

If you can't stand up and state your case then I just figure your a ball-less prick.

So what is it I have posted you dislike Anteros?

I agree with that. I'm on the fight back and stick it their face cowd.

I've been a Patriot fan since I was 6 years old when I first started understanding what the game is. That would be 1978.

I'm not going to cut-bait and turn my back on my team because the league FO has a friggin' hahd-on for us because of our consistent greatness.

In fact all it has done is strengthen my resolve and my allegiance and devotion to the team I will unwaveringly always support.

I'm not giving up on my team because the almighty powerful LO thinks they can bring us down.

I've lived my whole life in New England and consider myself a Patriot. The Patriots represent me better than any other NE sports team. There's Revolution in the air. Roger Goodell thinks he's the King and ultimate authority. King George III thought he was infallable as well. How'd that turn out?

Now is not the time to tuck-tail and run. Now is the time to stand forth and not accept this injustice.

We've gone back-and-forth before Ivan. I think you know damn well how pissed-off I was about that tampering debacle.

A 100$ grand fine? WTF? Seriously? I remember you were adamently posting we should get their (The Jests) 1st. I tried to temper your posts with a swap of 4th's or a next years 7th as being consistent with past rulings on an obvious violation that was publicly undeniable.

Instead Roger changed the rules again. He's the most horrible face of ANY sports league that has ever existed. I wrote this months ago about how the Jet's would skate for tampering and he would screw NE worse than any team that was up for violations.

Did I expect we'd loose a 1st and a 4th, a million $ and our defending SB MVP for a month? The Falcons loose a 5th for pumping in crowd noise for 2 years, Farmer gets a suspension which doesnt take effect until FA, the Draft and the 53 is decided before the season and of course the Jets. $100 grand for tampering with a Patriot player who was absolutely under contract.

Then it comes to NE. The LO has decided to screw you harder than any team has ever been screwed before over something they can't even prove. It's NE, so go nuclear beyond the realms of rational. I'd say I can't even believe it but yet here it is.

I'm astounded at the breadth of bias Goodell has gone to to screw us. If we got whacked for a 4th in 2016 and 1 gamer for Tom, well, I still would be pissed but this is way over-the-top.

Haven't read all the replies so apologies if this was already stated. None of us are going to stop watching the football regardless of what happens. We're posting on a message board of an NFL team... only hardcore fans do that.

Its kind of like what John Oliver said about Soccer/FIFA, and why with all the corruption going on in FIFA, which is way worse than in the NFL, fans still watch it... because its not just a game its a reeeeligion, check out the hot brazilian soccer loving religious chick:

There is no possible way this doesn't end poorly and yes, I am done with the NFL. The NFL made a conscious decision to become reality TV. F*ck reality TV!

I am done with the NFL network and ESPN. Canceled those channels on my TV. The only place I go for Pats news is this site.
