Lets not put anybody on the PS just yet until we see what we have at pass rush from the inside. We have Sucked! in that area for quite sometime now. I do not want to see the basketball player Chandler Jones rushing from the inside it negates his effectiveness. I will be watching Zack Moore and D Easley from the inside.

DL will be what I'll be watching most closely this Thursday. Specifically how the rotation sets up and in addition to the guys you mentioned, Johnson and Brown.

I just hope the local tv coverage spends some time isolating this group for analysis and not too much time on Jimmy. It would be nice to see more of Chatham's analysis and less of Hart and Perillo.

Branch is finally back. I think he sticks around...

Branch debuts and Tyms returns in the red jersey.

I agree. We need a 3rd fattie to join Brown and Siliga. We have Branch and Johnson.

IMHO, we have two open DT positions. I think that the favorites are still incumbents Branch and Chris Jones. The alternatives are Johnson, Vellano and Moore.

Reports suggest Johnson has had a great offseason.

Logan Ryan making the team is surprising to me...all I saw last season was him chasing people.....

Maybe it's just snapshots of him that don't represent the overall picture....

Anyone with thoughts either way on him?
If Ryan doesn't make the team this secondary has bigger issues ahead.

I looked at the player's weights again. Please consider this analysis.

Is Johnson really the fattie we need? Branch at 350 seems to be the appropriate backup to Brown and Siliga. Is there an alternative on the squad?

I would think that Johnson is competing with Chris Jones, Vellano and Moore for the 5th DT spot.

So you think it's imperative that the Patriots always be able to deploy a DT heavier than Brown?

I think the goal is rather to have Brown and Eisley as the starters side-by-side.

I believe that we should have 3 players capable of stuffing the middle against running teams. IMHO, having only two makes us much to vulnerable to an injury.

I also expect that the plan is to eventually start Easley in the middle. I believe his backup is Chris Jones or Johnson or Vellano.

MY BOTTOM LINE
We will have Brown, Siliga and Easley.
Who are the two backups?
I would prefer one heavyweight and one around 300 pounds.

I am thinking that Safety could be the area with the most players....Ebner/Wilson..which one?

I'd venture to say that Wilson is a bigger ST impact and has minimal defensive value, where Ebner has none.

All I know is that the last time I saw him in a game, he was putrid, practically cluelessly so.

I agree, and to take it one step farther, Wilson has been reported to be having quite a TC so far.
