Schefter - Jim Turner filing defamation suit against Ted Wells

He may be of the opinion that, due to the whole Brady situation, Wells may be more inclined to settle instead of risking going to court and losing and then having that used against him in a future lawsuit from Brady.

At this point I don't think there is a single team or player that I wouldn't root for if they went after the NFL or their cronies.

Bernard Pollard and the Jets vs. the NFL and I'd wear a ****ing green jersey.

Not sure if this guy is going to settle. I think he is an ex-Marine. If Wells will learn anything in the coming months, if not already, is that you don't mess with Brady's or ex military. A whole different code.

Ironically Pollard came out in support of Brady last week.

Come on Incognito, come on Dorito Dinks, pile it on! Now that the first one has gone, start PILING it on the louse Ted Wells. We now have defamation case 1. Incognito can be case 2. Dorito Dink1 is case 3. Dorito Dink2 is case 4. (Brady is case 5?). All different cases, all filed in different venues.
The weight of so many cases itself can be it's own semi level of justice. Wells will be forced to spend time and money to 'defend his good name', to defend 'I'm independent! and fair as the driven snow' in back to back to back venues (file them in different districts too).
More cases improves the chances that one gets to trial which could mean Wells' slimy operations behind the scenes will be exposed (doesn't that mean by extension the NFL may get it's slimy underbelly exposed too???). It may even push Wells to settle. That is a win itself for anyone railroaded by Goodell's Stasi headed by the scumbag known as Ted Wells.
I pray this is an opportunity to pay back Wells (and Goodell by extension) for being a railroad-er. And I assume all plaintiffs will have plenty of contingent based legal representation options at their disposal -- these cases are sure to get a lawyer's name prominently in the paper once or twice (or more).

The Boston Strangler, folks...won't even accept a tap out...:D

I'm on 10 cups of coffee, just did a long plane flight, and I've gotten only 3 hours of sleep in the last day. That means I'm just gettin started ...
(and btw Joker, considering your lone long unwavering voice of anti Goodell sentiment, praise from you on this subject is the highest there is :)).

In movie terms, I'm Wendell "Bud" White from L.A. Confidential...I always KNEW there was something dirty about the Goodell Owl, I just wasn't smart enough to see the entire picture of corruption until the past 6 months. Fortunately, a whole bunch of Pats fans far more intelligent than I took up the gauntlet. I just pray they STICK TO IT.

Just you aren't off the record, not on the QT, and not at all very hush-hush.....:)

I wouldn't mind a little Victory Motel session with Sid "Goodell" Hudgens if you catch my drift...

I think he didn't sue before because he might have been advised that the case wasn't strong enough, now things have changed and the timing is great for both him and Brady's team because where there's smoke there's fire.

The things he says in this interview are strong statements and these facts sound like things he can back it up because the players that also gave testimony will back him up.

THAT was the first thing that came to mind when I heard he'd filed the defamation suit so long after the report. I bet it was the emails in the Brady Revelation that would give Turner's case not only creditability, but confirmation of a pattern of behavior. Incognito (though an ass) was also badly used by the league, but I doubt you'll see a suit by him as long as he's still playing in the league.

This is a good thing for Brady IF he ever decides to bring a defamation suit against the league and Welles. Again, it could be used in evidence to show a pattern of the league maliciously trying to shape the events to fit a predetermined desired result, with reckless disregard of who it hurt. And if the evidence doesn't create the desired result, they will frame what they do have and twist it until it does.

Good news for the Pats and Brady in that it is opening eyes into the workings of the League office that is supposed to be running this clown college. further eroding its shrinking credibility.

Wells may feel that way, but then it's hard to explain his bizarre press conference after his report was made public and how he screamed how he was independent and has integrity and whatever BS he wanted to spew that day.

Ted Wells had the same mentor as Clarence Thomas.
