Point Blank: if this ends poorly are you done with football?

I admit to not being the most careful reader of threads but I do not recall out of 100 posts even a small minority of the 100 saying Tom must win the case for them to watch football again.

While you make an excellent point, I have a bit of a difficult time comparing the two situations.

To me, he absolutely destroyed the reputation of the Patriots now twice, whereas I get the impression that no one in the world really gives a damn about the Saints. If they did, it was on a scale of about 10 percent of the disgust and hatred that we're seeing now.

This second sham job has taken everything to a whole new level. That said, I realize this wasn't really your point, and it is horrible that Goodell has been able to continue his evil ways.

I've had a very hard time reading anything about training camp but pretty much read every post on the lawsuit. I fully expected that I'd be back aboard and excited for football, but that hasn't been the case yet.

Now watch it and imagine Edelman being forced off the field due to the most recent anti-Pats rule addition and the Pats do not score the go ahead TD.

I usually look forward to the Hall of Fame game but I'd rather pay solitaire on my tablet than listen to the announcers fawning over Polian

I don't know what to say. We really wish you didn't know how it felt today, and know the Pats have been threw this before, but its amazing to see a fan of another team clearly see what we went threw and are still going threw. Our fans are mostly hard core believers. You have to be for supporting the laughing stock of the nfl for 43 years.
When everything got wasted, disasters, spills, the Saints for once did something extraordinary, they gave us something in the light of one disaster after another. We started counting on that laughing stock team. Cities take a long time to comeback.
No one was laughing at us anymore. It was more than a team for us.. it was Hope in hard times.
Until RG came, and ripped its heart out. Humiliated our boys in front of the world for what was football, and wiped away everything they did… and we couldn't stop it. He ruined our cap because we had to buy what we could not draft, gave every team in our division and advantage, and we believe wrecked a good coaches spirit by SP being forced to capitulate.
Dont get me started.. but omg who has the right to tell men they cant talk anymore outside of the work place !! Brees could not talk to one of his best friends SP or other coaches for frickin 6 months to a Year! No text no emails no calls, nothing allowed. Who has that kind of power, RG does.
Your right his conduct is truly shameful for what he's doing. I look at the Patriots fans, Team, BB, and Brady, and get teary eyed every time I think of what you are going threw now. BB must be beside himself, because he has no recourse. Brady could lose 4 games of stats for his career. Some of the greatest fans in football are wasting threads and effort on posting about this complete stupidity RG created because they are confused, know its a lie, and trying to work things out in their heads, thats understandable.
Instead of enjoying being the nfl Champs and talking about football you love and having fun with something you truly deserve. This should be a great time for your fans, instead RG has destroyed even your experience of well fought and deserved victory.
We are so proud of your boys to win the SB you really deserve it. Wish you could enjoy it.

I think your right, RG did absolutely destroy the reputation of the patriots, and very wrong in doing so, but hes right also, RG completely wrecked a good football team in NO. Which has never been done before. He enacted penalites that would make the Saints uncompetitive. Now with Brady out for 4 games he knows your chances fall in your division, same as he did to us.

I've already spent every day, if not a few days a week, on this pee-stained NFL season that overlapped with the Super Bowl weeks and continues to this day. I'm ready for the "off-season" to start as soon as SOMETHING is finalized, I don't care what, so I can take a break from the NFL. This pee-stained NFL logo is quite a ridicule of their own league.

You can tell the difference between 2 psi. You cannot tell the difference between .3 PSI. its a fact.

All this Saints talk has me leaning towards calling RG "The Big Sleazy"...

I believe Brady is innocent. Tanguay has come out and said he's guilty.

I want Tom exhonerated. I think Kraft made a HUGE blunder by capitulation. I don't hate him because of that. He was double-crossed by the most evil, back-stabbing lying snake in sports.

I hope Roger gets whats coming to him. Removal. My bullseye for this whole mess is aimed squarely at him.

And I'm not going to stop cheering and rooting on for my favorite team just because that a-hole is trying to stick it to us. On the contrary and to the total opposite of that idiot Tang-wipe, I'm even more ferverent in supporting my team now more than ever.

All that says to me is you became a fan when they started winning and your really not a fan of the game of football in the first place. I doubt anyone who's making those statements are going to go down on a Friday night and support there local HS team instead of watching the NFL because you just love the game.

That's the sport in it's truest form. Kids who go to school and try to make the grade and play the game they love in their extra time. They don't get paid. The coaches don't make jack. We get so wrapped up in this multi-billion dollar industry that we forget why we watch in the first place. I'm not going to stop enjoying the game of football because my team doesn't win every time.

I'll never forget how proud I was when that '85 team got in as a WC and went on the road and beat the Jets, Raiders and Dolphins in succesion. We hadn't beaten Miami in the Orange Bowl in forever. Yeah, we got smoked in the SB. But they got there. '96 with Bledsoe and company. Should I sit here and write about how much I hate Parcells and blah, blah, blah? Sorry, I prefer to remember what a fun ride it was to get there.

Any of this talk of I'm done with football makes me SMH. It makes you sound like a spoiled thumb-sucking brat. The female posters who frequent this board have more (ahem) balls than most of you.

I'm a New England Patriot fan and I write that with pride. I don't jump ship and quit on my team when the water gets a little rough or some of our guys make mistakes. I still think Kraft is the greatest sports owner in New England history since Walter Brown (I'm sure many kids here have absolutely no idea who he was).

pherein, you are good people. Glad you are around. And I hadn't appreciated what you and yours have been through until you wrote this. It sounds more outrageous than what we are going through with the Pats.
