Point Blank: if this ends poorly are you done with football?

I think you've got that a little backwards. Walking away from the NFL* is the only way to create change as the group of the corrupt 32 only understand one language: $$$$$$$$

If you don't walk away you're saying you're ok with their corruption or the drug that is the NFL* is too much for you to give up, or you're one of those who say if everyone doesn't stop watching the NFL then I won't make a dent so why should I stop watching.
No ... I got it right per my opinion.

I'm addicted to the NFL and have a bad case of "Pats Fanaticism".. no matter the outcome will always follow this team. Been a fan since the early 70's through many bad years, couple of good(prior to 2001) and do not see myself ever changing.

For me continuing to watch NFL is like staying in an abusive relationship. From now on I intend to ridicule those who watch it :D

I will be done with it when my interest is gone, as it was with baseball. It won't be something I declare just something that happens naturally. They have damaged it seriously and I think the league office is a joke but I still like the Patriots and have interest in the game, when it's gone I will know it, just as I knew that hockey had become my favorite sport last winter.

More probable than not.

I already rarely participate in the other big sports (Baseball, Hockey, Basketball,) specifically because they changed so much for the worst that they lost me. If there's no justice to be found for the Patriots then the NFL can go to hell too. The older I get, the quicker time flies and the less of it I have for nonsense.

I will never stop watching football..don't get the done with football after Brady and BB are done..sounds fair weatherish to me. Stop watching when they probably won't be as good?

Let's see....already passed this year on my typical 2 games per year at Gillette because I don't want to fund Kraft with my parking, concession, etc. dollars. Usually go to training camp a few times but don't have the enthusiasm to go this summer. Pass.

Followed the Pats since day one through really, really bad years and when they were the Patsies derided by the "real" NFL fans. Love the BB/TFB era but probably will stop following once they're done. There are many ways to spend time that do not involve watching a spectacle that I am coming to believe is attempting to be rigged. I might even abandon ship earlier if yet another phoney scandal or new enforced one time only rule that costs us a game (Jets FG for the win) drops on our goal line from the NY Jet infested league office this season or next. Not interested in a Pro Wrestling exhibition where the outcome is orchestrated.

If it turns out that Brady gets a suspension I will be disappointed but will continue to watch until
which ever comes first, I die or the NFL goes out of business.

Of course not. Corrupt people and practices are everywhere in life. You do what you can and hope for the best.

Fortunately, this will end well. We have 2 strings to our bow - Judge Berman and Robert Kraft. I believe that they'll both prevail in fixing what is so obviously broken but even if they don't, I'll still enjoy watching some of the world's best athletes play a game that's really great. My enjoyment is not based on legal decisions (much as I enjoy reading and thinking about the law) but rather about the sport itself.

I did stop watching the NBA because of the way it's officiated- palming, traveling, and offensive fouls basically not called- but I can fight corruption in the league office while still enjoying the game itself.

My enjoyment of football will not suddenly disappear because brady got suspended 4 games.

I'm enjoying the range of views here; makes me think a bit.

At this point, the NFL corruption has taken a huge toll on my enthusiasm for the game. I feel used and duped, and am not interested in allowing them to continue to do that to me. It is now very personal. There is an intoxicating aspect to the NFL that calls for vigilance.

On the flip side, the anger created by the injustice causes me to want 19-0 more than ever before. Heck, if next year's draft rolls around and the Pats are without #1 and #4, I want them to trade their entire draft for picks in the following year, and walk out of their 5 minutes before Goodell is set to take the stage to announce the #1 pick. Make THAT the topic of the day. Then go 19-0 again with UDFA's and FA signings to supplement the prior year's roster.

Then when the GOAT QB and the GOAT coach retire, I'm done. Life is a massive buffet of incredible opportunities and I just don't need to put NFL on my plate anymore.

And I will never buy anything or pay for anything that supports the NFL directly. I'm in the process of dropping cable and will find some other way to watch the games.

If Tom is suspended for any games...I will begin a strict regimen of flushing my system with alcohol for said games on game day. And once Tom is no longer suspended...I will continue to flush my system in the same ritualistic manor I have been accustomed to.

That is just about where I am, with the minor exception that my concern going to games or buying merchandise is that it funds the NFL. I've softened my hard line with Kraft.

My biggest concern in the future is the Russell Wilson rule change. I can easily see another "independent" NFL appointee pulling Gronk for a big 3rd or 4th down play because of "medical" reasons.

If it happens I'll be down to golf and hockey, and I'm not sure that golf is really a sport. Maybe I'll stay here and only post or respond to posts about the Pats up to the Brady era.

It's funny how much the other team's fans loved us back in the beginning. Now that we have the perfect storm of HC and QB, they want to cry about us.

Yup, if I wanted to watch a rigged sport I would watch wrestling too. But that the fix is in is all too clear. Best game ever but still a game, and frankly life is too short to be laughed at by Goodell and a bunch of billionaires.

Maybe BB will start coaching college lacrosse like his daughter and I'll have found a new game to follow passionately.

For now I am in until Brady and BB retire. However, that could change real quick if it becomes clear the NFL is ordering the on-field officials to screw us over. Just wait for the first bogus "he might have a concussion, need to remove him from the game" thing to happen. Not to mention bogus DPI calls or offensive holds.

I feel sorry for those that are stepping away. You are going to miss revenge tour 2.0 on the way to Brady's 5th superbowl.

For those that are out or soon to be out.........I have no problem with that. Why would you feel compelled to watch a game that is supposed to be fun anyway?

AS FOR ME, I LOVE football, always have always will.

NFL will correct itself, every business that struggles ( if people jump ship - NFL will struggle), looks inside and rights it ship. I believe that will happen in tne NFL.

There is no way I jump ship though, to me that would not only mean walking away from the game I love, but also that the haters will have won. There is NO way that is going to happen on my watch - seeing Goodell and his merry band of lunatics get theirs will be, outside of watching Brady & NE go back to back, truly enjoyable.

What evidence is there that the group of NY employees in the league front office will ever be rooted out?
That's THE problem. As long as they are there favoritism like small cash penalties for marquis player tampering will continue unabated.
