Could Goodell's end come quickly?

Speaking against my idea, which owners would be afraid to go after Goodell?

1. Those whom he coddles on matters of discipline -- notably Jets and Colts.

2. Those who have strong hopes of moving to LA.

Anybody else?

The money he's made ... I doubt he cares ... he has the greatest gig in the country.

And yet he hasn't been able to corrupt the Rats into winning a Superbowl.

Goodells job is on the line! He was pressured by 5 owners, 4 of which would benefit if Brady was out for the first four games. He was backed into a corner and had to uphold the 4 game suspension. He can claim he didn't back down when the Judge vacates the suspension. In addition, Goodell and his NFL Law team just handed Brady a Defamation of Character lawsuit.

I doubt that owners instigated it.

I doubt that he even instigated it.

Rather, I think it was instigated by some combination of Kensil, Vincent, Pash et al.
If true, the fact that the was manipulated into this difficult (euphemism) situation by his underlings speaks to his managerial incompetence.

I don't think anyone fears him anymore, because his incompetence and dishonesty is spread all over the news. There is a certain faction who feel they will be favored, but once the money tap to the league is threatened, they'll come running to the other side quicker than Don King in a championship fight.

here's the section. I don't think mentally incapacitated is a reach, but certainsly, in all his bumbling, incompetent dishonesty, he went againsyt something in the guidelines.

"detrimental to the best interests of the League" is a layup.

That section explicitly mentions bylaws. I believe I saw an excerpt from the NFL Bylaws about being truthful, and an obligation to correct falsehoods. I think there is a slam dunk case about that over the erroneous psi readings, evidenced by released emails.

One think I think would help in putting pressure on the Owners to explain their support of Goodell following the PROOF that he's been lying, is to provide a list of all the instances when Goodell or his office lied

These can and should include those outside of the FrameGate saga

With all of your help I think it would be a pretty compelling list that would make it hard for the owners to justify keeping a guy of that caliber who claims to be the champion of protecting the Integrity of the Game

There's so many it's tough to keep them straight - and remember, we're looking for black and white lies

1.) He lied when he said he didn't realize Ray Rice hit his girlfriend. A US District called "BS" on Goodell when he asserted that Rice lied to him in the interview - and even if he did, the Police Report actually says that Rice struck his girlfriend - but as you'll recall Goodell was getting slammed for giving a 2 game suspension only so he quickly crafted a bad lie and was caught

2.) Multiple NFL sources on multiple occasions (Mortensen double checked with his sources) lied about the 11 of 12 footballs being 2psi under

3.) Dave Gardi/The NFL lied in their official letter to the Patriots at a time when they had the actual PSI

4.) Goodell lied in his Appeal decision - stating that Brady denies he talked to Jastremski about the emerging scandal - and THIS is the reason cited by Goodell for maintaining the 4 game suspension - when the transcript shows that isn't true

5.) Goodell lied about authorizing Ted Wells to include an internal investigation into the NFL's leaks (and lies) during DeflateGate. No investigation took place and none are planned

6.) Goodell lied about what he called a fair and transparent appeal process... in fact the NFL - for obvious reasons - was opposed to sharing the appeal transcript with the public. And it's clear it's anything BUT fair

Those are just 6 off the top of my head. Even one of them - given the serious nature of this allegation - strikes me as a fireable offense, as when the Commissioner of the NFL has no integrity, the NFL has no integrity - and the owners most CERTAINLY don't have any integrity

If anyone has any other lies, please continue the list (this MIGHT be worthy of it's own thread but let's start here for now)

I'd love to see Goodell go, but I think we're getting too far ahead of ourselves.

First, he'll have to not only lose this case, but likely need some additional negative light facts to come out. Even then, I think it may take one more major screwup before his job is threatened.

in other words he'll be out of a job in 6 months
