I have been saying this for a while now, when Kensil so eloquently said to the Pats Equipment Manager during the Colts game.. "you're f..ed", he literally meant it. Initially they envisioned that the penalty, as BB had to be behind it, would be very "Bountygateesque" and BB would be suspended for at least a year.. then Kraft might have had to fire him, and level the playing field.

and Robertweathers' response:

I'm with you. The NFL thought it in their souls that the Pats were deflating footballs. I'm starting to think that the Oct Jets game ball at16psi was a sting. At this point, is it out of the realm of possibility that the NFL would stoop to that?

Was Deflategate set up to begin at the Jets 16 PSI game, to lure the Pats into a rules violation to reduce the PSI of intentionally overinflated balls? Could the Pats, once again, be the target of a sting that started with a setup at a Jets game? Could we be missing the even bigger reality of what's happening here? That this is more than just reactionary Pats hatred out of Goodell and the front office, but is instead actually schemed hatred? And if there is discovery in a future lawsuit, that's what will become evident?

FWIW, I'm on vacation on the Cape and my wife thinks I've gone off the deep end here.

I'm not going to say you went off the deep end. The NFL* office actions and behaviour supports this theory. Only problem is there's no proof.

I think the disdain for BB supercedes any common sense from the League of Former Jets Employees..

Nothing would make them happier than to rid themselves of BB.. who usually plays by his own rules and despite their best efforts keeps on winning.

Not sure.

I checked the weather for the day of the game and the day after the game and they were both 67 degree days. Which would pretty much rule out inflation due to natural causes.

Is the only time Brady complained about the footballs? According to his testimony it was. So if this was a concerted effort to "fix the game" I would have expected to happen more than once.

Looks more like a referee snafu more than anything else but because of the sliminess we have witnessed in recent months, it is not out of the question.

Hopefully we will see a few more sealed documents released.

For a while now have wondered why no one ever polled former Pats QB's who played with Brady... Mallett, Guitteriez(sp), Cassell et al, were they aware of any shenanigans concerning game balls??

Have heard Zolak speak often about when he was backup QB his job was to ready the game balls, so they might have some insight..

While we're at it, my latest theory: Making a big deal about Brady's phone allowed them to get access to his texts & emails, and while sensitive information about our playbook and inner workings of our team were redacted from public viewing, the NFL may have poured over them and passed that info along to the Jets... info that the Jets can now use in the hopes of (ha) beating us.

Goodell was probably baffled as to how one team could be so much better than the other 31 so used this as an opportunity to attempt to figure it out. But sorry Roger, your Jets will never get another crack at BB coaching them.

Kensil's "you're f...ed" comment perfectly captures the mindset of the NFL

The fact that Kensil even made that comment further illustrates that this was a witch hunt by certain members of the NFL

Just think about it: You have a high-ranking league official, who is supposed to be neutral, taunting a member of the Patriots on the field during the AFC Championship Game.

During the pregame procedures, air is pumped into underinflated footballs and then using a guage, air is let out until the desired PSI is reached. It's possible that during the initial pumping in of air the football reached 16 PSI. It could be a deliberate act to leave it at 16 psi or something happened to disrupt the deflating to the proper psi. A guage might have broke during the process (actually happened to me the last time I checked the psi in my tires) or some other distraction.

The tampering charges against the Jets were filed the same day as the AFCCG, Kraft may have been given an ultimatum, keep quiet or else.

So, let's it was at 11 -- they accidentally put 5 lbs in?

Don't really know because I don't know how much air usually gets put in. One pump, two pumps. How much does the psi get raised with each pump. No clue. Since this occured at a Jets vs Patriots game, it looks highly suspicious to me too. If this happened to a Jets ball, you know Goodell would have found a way to blame it on the Patriots and punish them. Still it could just be an accidental screw-up, stuff like that happens.

dude are you imaging them using an olde tyme bicycle pump rather than an electric pump?

how long does it take to 'accidentally' put in an extra 5 psi of air, would be my question.

isn't selling offices how goodell does business?
isn't that how vincent got his job?
isn't what that saints guy mentioned about a couple saints players who helped league out on bountygate?
yep defensive assistant Mike Cerullo, was one who offered key evidence to NFL investigators as they worked to uncover proof of a pay-for-performance bounty system, later got a job.

Vitt was asked whether he oversaw Cerullo's attempts to destroy evidence related to bounties,
"No. The answer is no," Vitt said. "Cerullo is an idiot."

In his letter to Tagliabue, Cerullo defended his work record with the Saints.

"It has been said that I 'disappeared' from work during the 2009-2010 season, that my performance ratings were poor," Cerullo wrote to Tagliabue. "I never missed work, always received high performance ratings."

He was fired,

RG used his testimony to start BG, Tagliabue said the firing was understandable according to saints records of attendance and performance evaluations.

his email:
So I have info on Saints Joe Vitt Lying to your NFL Investigators on Bounties from 2010, along with proof!!! I was there, in the cover up meetings, with players and Joe, I love the NFL and want to work there again, but I am afraid if I tell thge [sic] truth I will never coach again in NFL, But I was fired for a situation that the Saints encourage. All I want is a Job back in the NFL as a QC Coach anywhere, so If talking to you jepodizes [sic] that I will have to get back to you, but The Saints are a Dirty Organization. Contact me.”
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ef-attaches-whistleblower-email-from-cerullo/

“The Saints were so concerned about Cerullo’s stability, as Goodell also knew, that, when Cerullo was terminated, Saints head coach Sean Payton also was forced to obtain police protection at his house for fear that Cerullo would seek some type of retribution.”

A real creditable guy to start a witch hunt, and destroy a team.
A real wonderful guy, who willing to say anything RG wants for a new job. RG will use any low life as empirical evidence, to support his frail ego, and the opposing fans just eat it up.

btw I was very angry about this before, but whats done is done. We are mostly over it. I just hope Tom can not go threw this, and something happens to help the patriots. The Fans dont deserve it, and I dont wish what happend to us on anyone.

NFL needs to apologize to Brady and the fans, and stop this nonsense .

Yowsa.

First, if that's truly his mental health profile, other people shouldn't be exposed to him until he's declared healthy.

Second, if that's representative of his command of the English language, he shouldn't be given any job above entry level, and should be enrolled in a literacy program if he has any aspirations of being promoted into anything with greater responsibility.

True, he is an idiot and unstable, but it also shows the low caliber of witnesses RG uses, and is willing to employ to make up his fantacy football judgements. RG will use the same kind of people to discredit Brady, and we know it. All that matters is that they say what RG wants them to say.
But he will never change most saints fans minds. Brady is the best QB there ever was so far , a good man, a family guy, loves football, no way Brady or BB is cheating beyond what most teams are doing. They dont have to.
Im not even sure the Patriots know the true identity of the guy that tip off RG, thats why a court case is so important.
Vilma's court case required RG to tell who he was

We are football fans and see the truth pretty clearly.
Its nonsense, if the fans voted today RG would be fired tomorrow.

It's not that all weird to think that the Jets game was the start of all of this BS. It forced Brady to find out what is wrong with the footballs and tell his equipment manager to make sure they follow the rule book.

Fast forward to the AFCCG and the Nfl front office is besides themselves as they are still winning.

So the sting is in place from the Colts and here we are.
Correct, but you skipped one major event. Fast forward to the moment the Pats filed tampering charges against the Jets. I can just imagine all of the NY trolls running around going "we'll show them!"
