My condolences to all the sports editors out there. Releasing Gunn removes a whole years worth of potential headlines.
Particularly in these trying times!

Brady was 31 of 41 today. Garoppolo 15 of 20 with an INT (Tavon Wilson) and fumbled snap.

Jeff Howe ‏@jeffphowe 4m4 minutes ago

Scott Chandler iced the back of his left knee midway through practice.

Jeff Howe ‏@jeffphowe 4m4 minutes ago

Dominique Easley flew through the line to make a play in 11-on-11s.

There were some free LB blitzers through the middle of the starting line, a sign the OL communication still needs work.

Jeff Howe ‏@jeffphowe 2m2 minutes ago

Brady closed practice with 13 straight completions.

Was it because of this though?

Tavon Wilson and Darryl Roberts had pass breakups at practice. Wilson continues to have a strong camp.

On a side note. A rare day without a single tweet about Butler. Richards had another good practice with the top D again but no Butler news so far.

Has Richards been running ahead of Chung at SS? Or have they been rotating? I haven't heard much about Chung, but i also couldn't tell you if he's healthy or not.

That pic, when it was made, was a head scratcher for me. However, after reading about Richards and seeing him in person on Tuesday, I'm grudgingly starting to be more positive about his overall play. On 11 V 11's he always seems to be in the right place. I am going to be focusing in on him come next Thursday's game.

Sounds like he really blew up that particular play.

That's the hope. The Pats' front 7 could give defenses nightmares between the beef and penetraters we have (on paper). Granted it's not Buffalo's front 7, but they should be very competitive and morph depending on who we're playing each week.

Ps-more updates please. :)

Sounds pretty par for what I have been hearing all camp so far.

Sounds pretty par for his career. I would certainly hope it's minor, but his injury history is the only thing that kept me from being absolutely stoked about the signing. Gronk and Chandler could be monsters of the redzone or the tub at any moment. I hate when I come to that stark realization. Here's to hoping this is the dumbest post ever by next February.

Probably the only good thing I've read about him thus far. I guess I'm a bit hard on him because I live in Gainesville and watched him be an absolute beast in person. It's like a spark that's trying to catch fire with him so far. I hope he has a good camp. Oh, and he's a cool dude in person. I had a chance to speak with him at the barber shop earlier in the offseason. He really didn't say much about the Pats, though . . . mostly how he liked being away for a while but can't wait to get back to NE to get things started again.

Or our L-Backers ROCK! (wish we still had the rocker emoji)

He's the G.O.A.T. He does what he does.

Overall the refrain seems to be:

- It's been a great start to camp for Edelman and Amendola. The news about Amendola is especially encouraging because the confidence carried over. Some have made the argument, and not entirely overstated, that we don't win the SB without Amendola in the postseason. I can't say that that statement is without some great validity. Edelman being concussed turned out to be a little-mentioned storyline.

- It's been a great start for Dobson. With JoJo still being out (which bums me out so much), other guys are getting good looks and gaining a lot of rapport with both QB's. Dobson needs the reps probably more than any other wideout on the team. Hearing that he is making the best of them so far is highly encouraging. That damn hammy crept up on him, and I just hope it doesn't become one of those nagging things in his season and/or career. Still, I'm happy to hear it's been more good than bad with him so far.

- Collins is being Collins. Look, this kid's trajectory is greatness and I don't think anyone can argue that. Collinsworth (I know I know) said that if Jamie stays healthy, there will not be an All-Pro team, pro bowl team, etc. (paraphrasing) that won't have him on it. I agree 1000 percent.

- Butler's play and confidence are way up! I knew he'd make the team last TC and had to defend him in many game threads early on, so this really does not surprise me at all. As well as guys played in the Super Bowl (Ninko, Hightower (beast), the secondary as a group), I could make a pretty compelling argument that we probably don't win without him (not talking last play of the game). He accounted for two third-down stops in that fourth quarter and a key reason why the Pats could drive the ball twice to score. His development could very well end up being a key storyline this season, and he could become a major element in repeating.

- Richards' intelligence continues to wow the coaches, players and onlookers. They say he could be the starter come game one of the season. He got a majority of the "first-team" reps today, in fact. I admire Chung and want him in the game on those obvious run plays or the Big Nickel. But in passing situations, I'll take a guy who can cover better. And I know Richards has not played at this level in a game that matters, but I'd still bet he's a better cover man than Chung. Chung was drastically better in this area in 2014, but it's still not a strength for him.

- Stork has gotten better and Tre Jackson is ready to be a Day 1 starter, and a good one, already. The interior line must hold up for an aging Brady. Teams have successfully destroyed that interior line and showed that's the way to beat Brady. Now I will say Brady's movement last season was absolutely astounding and honestly a surprise! He really moved like he was in his 20's last season (and that' s not a stretch, IMO). But ideally, you still want him in that pocket surveying the whole field. Our quick passing game will also give young Jackson a chance to ease into it as much as can be expected at the Pro level.

OH, and Brady still looks like the G.O.A.T.

Par for his career? He's had about 2 injuries since he became the #1 TE in Buffalo.

GP last 4 years (as the #1 TE)

I stand corrected. I was wrong. My bad.

So the hired Gunn misfired

No, he just had to be on the red carpet for the premiere of Project Runway tonight (yep, sad I know this aint it? Even sadder I thought it would make a good joke on a football message board)
