I distinctly remember credible reports a few months back saying Wells' investigation was going back 15 years into the Patriots protocols and practices. These reports stated that former ballboys, equipment managers and backup QBs had all been interviewed.

Is it not SIGNIFICANT that an investigation going back for 15 years found NOTHING??????

This franchise was subjected to a 15 year colonoscopy and all the league could come up with was "more probably than not was at least generally aware" during one game.

15 years. Hmm.....the Patriots have been really really successful in the past 15 years.

What a crock of ****.

The Jets fans.......errr.....League Office....needs to know why.

We know that no scheme to deflate footballs of any sort could have existed up through the Jets game last October, because Jastremski wanted the footballs at 13 psi and verified to Brady, after testing them the next day, that they were not set to where they were supposed to be. Thus was 5 months after the famous "deflator" text. So the Colts "it is well known..." garbage was exactly that, garbage.

Yep...and then in an interview in late April/early May, Roger Goodell said one of the things the report would look into was "how long have they been doing it for?" Yep, Mr. No Preconceived Notions or Presumption of Guilt said that, supposedly before he saw the report. We know of course that during that time he was editing it.

You can be damn sure that if there were any hint or chance of the slightest wrongdoing, it would have been in the report. How convenient it was left out, while there were almost 300 pages devoted to nothing.

Why fifteen years? What possibly could have happened to the Pats 15 years ago that would give them that number?

Sarcasm for those with broken meters.

It was said before and it bears repeating..The investigation was the punishment!

I still want to know who screwed up on the football that measured 16 PSI.

What the hell gauge did they use? One to check Bridgestones?

I believe it was Bill Leavy, who has since been "coaxed out" of refereeing.

People fear what they don't understand or can't explain.

It's been happening for centuries.

In this case the Patriots dominance over a 15 year period.

You would think science has come a long way? I guess for some, stakes, kindling and a torch still work?

Grigson: "it is well known the pats do this."

Goodell: "according to who?"

Grigson: "oh lots of guys... Myself, Irsay, Harbaugh, Bisciotti, Woody Johnson, Kensil, myself, Elway, Manning, Harbaugh, Kensil, myself, Bisciotti, Irsay, Woody, Harbaugh, myself, Kensil, and also Harbaugh. Oh, and Kensil. And myself too."

Goodell: "sounds legit."

One would assume that they went back a few years. Since they found a May 2014 Deflator Text which some people still dismiss the explanation as impossible to believe despite the 2nd text with the jacket and deflate clearly seems to be making fun of the guy for looking fat on TV. The other reason to believe this is the date.
In May 2014 he calls himself the "Deflator"-nowhere near the football season BTW.
In October 2014 the Jets game happened, the text clearly indicate the balls were not deflated prior to the game after refs had them. IF they were doing this in May of 2014 that means that in the 2013 season it was done so for the Jets game at home in Oct 2014 it would be impossible for the balls to be over-inflated when they were tampering them to be under-inflated. The whole text exchange proves they did not think of PSI and clearly did not tamper with the PSI before that game which clearly makes the "deflator" text completely unrelated to this issue.

And they found NOTHING, no tapes of the guy going to the bathroom, no measurements were done, nobody complaining to the league, NOTHING related to ball deflation before the AFC championship game that indicates balls were under inflated or tampered with.

So, yeah, they clearly went back to see if they could get anything sooner, 15 years I doubt but a few years and yet no former employee, no former player no former ref had ever indicated they thought something was going on. They have one out of context Deflator text and several texts indicating balls at a home game were over-inflated. So they have more proof pre-AFC Champ game that they are innocent than they do of any guilt.

Back in my college days, we had a guy we jokingly referred to as "wife-beater" because he always wore those t-shirts when hanging out in the dorm. Could you imagine if people still called him that to this very day.

I do love how there can only be 1 interpretation of a nickname. I'm curious why nobody, from anywhere, has done an expose on McNally and Jastremski. could it be that they've nothing to add to the conversation. Not even, they are under orders not to discuss.

Ok so call me stupid but what is the official explanation for the "deflator" text? People keep bringing it up as their argument

...that there MIGHT, POSSIBLY, MAYBE have been a gnat's breath of air lost from some footballs.

This would not surprise me.

Keep in mind BB sued not just the Jets, but the NFL in an anti-trust suit in 2000.
