.......nothing better than THIS shows how effective the NFLPA is right now in getting its message out to the rank and file.

If CROMARTIE can strongly state the talking points of Brady's position then the Bart Hubbuchs of this world have got to have their tails between their legs right now.

http://itiswhatitis.weei.com/sports...mps-to-tom-bradys-defense-rips-roger-goodell/

"......In the rulebook, there’s no suspension in the rules. There’s only a $25,000 fine,” he added. “So I don’t see how you can try to lay the hammer down on someone when the rule states for itself there’s no suspension for it. There’s only a maximum fine for $25,000.”

Cromartie continued: “Are we trying to go back to the Spygate and get more from that? Or are we just leading back to us, saying ‘Well, I have full control of everything. I made the rules as it goes, rather than follow the rules of what’s already been written.'”

“......Nobody’s safe,” Cromartie said. “Nobody’s safe no matter who you are. Roger is going to do what he wants to do. It don’t matter what the rules say. He’s going to make his own rules as he goes. And it shouldn’t be like that. But at the end of the day, we as players gave him the freedom to do whatever he wants to do. We signed the sheet. So we had our own fault for doing it. We should have been more detailed. We shouldn’t have rushed into things. We should have pushed it to another month and a half and made the owners lose money, and then you go from there......”

Maybe one of the mothers of Cromatie's 847 kids threatened him with increased child support payments if he didn't publicly support Brady.

Well, you have the NFLPA fighting this war.

Its become a bit clear to players that this could easily happen to them.

Cromartie, for once is the smartest guy in the room.
Every NFL player should be saying these things, because if this happens to Brady it can and will happen to them when the wind blows their way.
Being a player in a league where the Commissioner can destroy the reputation, suspend and take 1.88mill away from someone who did absolutely nothing should scare the hell out of them.

Cromartie, pollard, kravitze, Steven A Smith.......

Damn it, so close... but all people are going to latch on to is this:

“So I don’t see how you can try to lay the hammer down on someone when the rule states for itself there’s no suspension for it. There’s only a maximum fine for $25,000.

The actual rule is worded something like, "Recommended but not limited to $25,000." So the league technically has the power to go over that. No one amongst the haters will care about any of the other good points he made, they'll cling to that one mistake and burrow their ignorant heads into it like the ticks they are.

So….he's NOT a complete idiot?

My worldview just sustained a massive shift. I'm scared. Hold me.

Be optimistic instead, Bella*chick.

Given the significant percentage of the U.S. population tied to his gene pool, maybe these future Americans will be more rather than less intelligent as beneficiaries of his DNA contributions:).

Not as dumb as I thought...more should speak out.

“......Nobody’s safe,” Cromartie said. “Nobody’s safe no matter who you are. Roger is going to do what he wants to do. It don’t matter what the rules say. He’s going to make his own rules as he goes. HUGE!!!!!!!!
Look at his words. Cromartie "gets it" and the more players that get it changes the entire dynamic of this story.
I also believe Roger Goodell's future will change. Will take time but he's going.

Also remember that this rule does not even apply to players, as it is in the field operations guide that players never get, since it is for non-playing team personnel.

The player code for using improper in-game equipment calls for a fine on the order of 8K for violations, with no "not limited to" clause anywhere in sight.

Finally players might be realizing what the hell is going on here. I don't know if it was the release of the transcript that could be wisening up some of these guys or what but they should be. If Goodell could rail road the biggest name in the sport and play judge, jury, and executioner (lying and making up punishments) the rest of the players sure as hell ought to be alarmed.

That said this is only one voice but hopefully other players are starting to feel uneasy. Hopefully a revolt against Goodell is on the horizon.

Next thing you know Terrell Suggs will be to the rescue.

Like everyone else, I'm delighted. Surprised, but delighted.

Too bad, though, that it's taken so long for other players to realize the stakes here. The mediots would have toned their remarks down months ago, if they realized it wasn't just them against an easy target in the four time SB champions who had already been caught "cheating," but it was them against every player in the league with a brain.

Hopefully it's not too little too late.

Every playerin the NFL should stand up against Goddell (and for Brady) regardless of team affiliation or personal biases. He is a incompetent buffoon who has zero social awareness, never mind the total lack of comprehension skills. A hell of a representative to run a billion dollar organization. Well done owners. Some people know the cost of everything and the value of n nothing.

I love the 5h!t out of this. I might just be able to watch football again. Amazing. I've been telling my friends, since this started, that this would start happening. The whole BS.: Raven started it, Colts continued it, Kensil ran with, Gotohell swore by it..... I love when I'm right. Now let's watch all these pricks who threw TB under the bus, squirm. FU: Romo, Brunell, Marino, Jerry Jones, Eli, Luck.....,
