"Some of my favorite, most memorable McGinest moments came in regular season clashes against the Colts," Kraft said. "In the 2004 season-opener, he preserved a three-point win in the final seconds with a 12-yard sack on Peyton Manning, turning a chip shot, game-tying field goal into 48-yard miss by Mike Vanderjagt. Arguably his most iconic moment came in a game at Indy in 2003, when he stopped Edgerrin James at the goal line in the last seconds."

"During Willie's career, there was nothing more satisfying than settling the Colts with a loss — something the Patriots did 16 times in 21 attempts during Willie's 12 seasons with the Patriots," Kraft added.

Kraft also made a point to name former Colts quarterback Peyton Manning as one player who had to face McGinest a lot.

"As a pass rusher, he had the speed to wreak havoc on a quarterback," Kraft said. "Just ask our good friend Peyton Manning."

Is that the fg where the drunk kicker missed 30 yards left

It has been three days now and now I know it has turned on the NFL. They are reeling now. There is nothing to leak. All is in the open.

The owners meeting is coming up. Kraft can really redeem himself if he does something, anything, there to rock the boat. Until then I remain neutral on anything he says.

So the idea that Kraft decided to take it on the chin to help ease Brady's case - out of loyalty to Brady - that doesn't matter or you don't believe it is true?

either/or. It was ill advised. Lets see some action from him

Owners meeting is August 11.
August 12 is first hearing before Judge Berman.
August 13 is Goodell's contempt of court hearing.

How wonderful would it be to have Goodell fired before he gets to appear at either court date?

I think Kraft could make a very credible argument that Goodell's actions have been the biggest threat to the integrity of the NFL. That tidbit about the bylaws requiring honesty makes the refusal to correct erroneous leaked information a firing offense. Karma is a *****, time for her to show it.

Bet you he is working behind the scenes to facilitate the 20 votes needed to oust Goodell.

For a smart man, it was an obvious dumb move (appeasement), no? Given his willingness to cede all sorts of platitudes towards Goodell after many, many recent clusterf*cks and similar shenanigans towards other teams?

I'm neutral...because if whatever he does helps Brady (now) I'm all for it.

I accepted Kraft's apology and think that he probably believed taking the sanctions would help Brady, but I till think his membership in the billionaire boys club was the primary reason he caved. He couldn't stand the cold shoulders and wanted back in their good graces. I do however believe he now knows he was really really wrong and should have stood with the team and fans.

It's either not true or his original decision was the result of poor judgment on the part of a CEO to a degree that boggles the mind. I can prove neither, so I'll accept either as an explanation. However, I lean towards thinking that Kraft, at the time, was more interested in preserving his standing among his fellow owners than he was in standing up for his QB, which became a convenient explanation when his original decision blew up in his face and he realized he had lost the support of the fans.

What actions will appease the people hellbent on hating Kraft?

Does he have to spit in Goodell's face and punch Vincent's wife in the tit?
That's a start.

That's a start.
With you on the face spitting...not the punching...on the other hand, if you were a player in Goodell's NFL you'd probably only get a $25 fine for it.
