What kind of precedent does this show?

My daughter asked me the other day why have the Patriots been in the news and all over the internet. She is 7 and has seen me reading article after article about the Pats, thats how she saw the internet stuff, and she asked me why is everyone talking badly about them? Didnt they just win the big game? I had to then explain the situation to her, she is 7, and she asked why they are doing this if they are winners? I didnt have an answer. So is this what the NFL wants to teach the younger generation? Be successful and win the big game and then they will bad talk you and call you a cheater?

Unfortunately this is the society we now live in. Bring down the other guy to bring yourself up.
We see everyday in the news, I see it every day at work. Co-workers talking bad about others to make themselves look good and needed more. I have married "friends" who I know for a fact, have had affairs and are calling Brady a cheater.

To me the lesson is even if you do everything right, ascend all the way to the top and beyond, people will still try to minimize you. I'm sure when Brady was playing football in high school/college he wasn't trying to become the most notorious athlete in professional sports. Brady's abilities are undeniable, self-evident, and immutable. You can't beat everyone else this consistently and expect anything less. They've won the division 12 of the last 14 years, imagine being a Jets fan knowing every year your team basically has no shot simply because Brady is still alive.

The other lesson is that when someone is good and people tell you they're on steroids, cheating, just lucky etc, you should remember Brady before jumping on board.

I think this might be a good teaching moment for your daughter about the pitfalls of envy, jealousy and spite. That weak people sometimes become hurtful because they can't have what others have. And even though they are hurtful, it is important not to react to them.

I have been banging this drum since Spygate. Goodell NEVER thought about the damage he was doing TO US, the hardworking CITIZENS of N.E. and OUR CHILDREN. Being attacked by repugnant schoolyard bullies, being beaten because they wear a Pats shirt . Stomped on, brow beaten, abused as authority figures looked on indifferently. Think I'm lying? My cousin had to MOVE the family and kids out of Rat Jersey because of this crap. He moved all the way out to Oregon. My nephew Billy was attacked, stomped ,beaten and has his shirt ripped off his body by these little coward degenerate punks and the principal of the middle school in Lakehurst called it "boys being boys".

Don't tell ME this lying goddamned weasel ginger jerkoff is NOT RESPONSIBLE. HE started this with his hatchet boy Kensil...premeditated...and he continues to this day...it's preposterous."May have could be"? over BALL INFLATION???? Going to FEDERAL COURT???

First thing that needs to happen is someone needs to make a dent in Goodell world...personally I want him in federal court on RICO charges. He's a pathological, lying, piece of excrement AFAIC.

I could write a book about my negative experiences with the schools here. Some of it is criminal.

Who knows, maybe this latest bs will bring it to a head and finally expose Goody and the gang. I really don't think though that we'll see a congressman's son heading to court on RICO charges.

I'm still in 4th heaven though.

Sadly there is no such thing as "precedent" under Goodell. All rulings are totally arbitrary and vary based on how good you are and how much he hates you.

What deflategate has illustrated to me is that if someone like TOM BRADY is hated by the majority of people out there, then one has no reason to worry about anyone else's opinion of them whatsoever. Opinions of others, even if there are millions of them, mean nothing.

What kind of precedent does this show?
