Just heard that on espn radio......who gave that piece of information? Was it Bradys camp or the nfls?

It was in the emails between the Colts and nfl office, released in the appeal docs. Another lie exposed, add it to the list.

Deflategate has shown just how bad the media is at reporting a story.

Just read the Ravens statement. Seems like they're inferring that Sullivan a liar. Also, they're incriminating themselves on prepping the kicking ball, an NFL violation. That should be worth a first rounder :)

So than their calling the Colts liars. .....hmm mm shouldn't the colts reply now? Let's just get everybody calling each other liars and make this circus even bigger. Lol

Statement:
RAVENS DENY TIPPING OFF COLTS
i

The team released a statement: "Prior to the AFC Championship Game, no one from the Ravens talked to the Colts about deflated footballs. We knew nothing of deflated footballs. John Harbaugh has been consistent in his answers to reporters about this since he was first asked on NBC-TV at the Super Bowl."

Of course they would.

The **** storm is coming and everyone is abandoning ship.

Only if it affects the Pats in a positive light. Anything else it would be all over their ****ty network and internet sites. I looked at their web site this morning (I rarely do - only to see if they had any integrity at all and I am never disappointed) and the Brady transcript link is buried halfway down the web page.

As you can see, Sullivan alleges that a Ravens coach called Colts head coach Chuck Pagano before the AFC championship game to warn him about problems they had with the kicking balls in Foxborough.

This is odd, though, because the kicking balls are not prepared by either team. According to the NFL rule book, "for all games, six new footballs, sealed in a special box and shipped by the manufacturer to the Referee, will be opened in the officials' locker room two hours and 15 minutes prior to the starting time of the game. These balls are to be specially marked by the Referee and used exclusively for the kicking game."

This could be yet another example of the casual nature of football protocol. Sullivan says in the email that the Ravens were "given new footballs instead of the ones that were prepared correctly. We would like to use the footballs that I will break in."

Unless Sullivan means the team generally "breaks in" the new footballs in the two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff, his comment makes little sense. If the Ravens are generally allowed to use footballs that are broken in days and weeks beforehand, not the new ones shipped from the manufacturer, this simply illustrates how little NFL referees care about football preparation.

So now we have a third party disputing facts. I'm loving this! :D

Why would Sullivan lie in an internal email that he, in his wildest dreams, never imagined would go public?

EDIT: Closer reading of Sullivan's email, show that deflation concerns were his own, not from Ravens. See SVN post below. Gotta love how misinterpretation/faulty inference can hurt the innocent :)

Make sure the refs rotate the kicking balls cause last week they wouldn’t let our ball in the game. Their ball was done so poorly that it was nearly impossible to kick off deep…It was hard and not worked in well at all…Let Tom (McMahon, Colts special teams coordinator) know he can call me at any time.”

Overinflated kicking balls? Quick, fine the Patriots with the loss of another 1st rounder!!

Dont think sulllivan says ravens talked about deflatd footballs. I think he says ravens told him about kicking balls and the other thing is that its well know around league blah blah...which seems is his own rumor from somewhere else. At least thats what the ravens say.

Regardless what happened, the NFL looks really bad once this report came out with teams throwing barbs ,releasing text messages.... This is what they wanted.

That's how I read it as well.... the Ravens talked about getting the right balls for the kicking game, then the Colts guy added another concern about the Pats deflating balls. 2 different things, so the Ravens may actually be able to skate on this one. At least as to whether or not they tipped off Colts about Pats.

You're right. Closer reading of Sullivan email does indeed separate the two issues.

If the Ravens sneak in their own K balls, how much of that can explain Tucker's excellent kicking % and his constant stream of touchbacks?
