"It wasn't McNally's job"

Same here. I did break my rule yesterday and listened during a WEEI commercial break, and I was just in time to hear Felger say that Belichick is probably involved in deflating footballs but the NFL is doing the a Patriots a favor by not going after him because goodell and Kraft are such good friends.

I then punched myself in the face for tuning into the Troll Show

I used to listen to them because I think occasionally they have a good point and to laugh at their blatant trolling. They've become unlistenable (not that they were that listenable to begin with) during the later stages of Defamegate. There's only so many times you can listen to them go "I don't know what they did but they did something!", "BB's involved and should be punished!" and "...but what about the text messages, Mike?!"

Now, I listen to DH&T which is okay because at least they try to have opinions rather than troll. Dale is kind of infuriating lately with his fence-sitting.

Listening to Bevis and Butthead (Volin and Tanguay) with John Dennis, I heard themm say something that the people who want to hang Brady and the Patriots always said and I don't get. They kept on harping on if McNally helped to prepare the balls before the game, it is clear that Brady is guilty because "it isn't his job". I never got that.

I am unaware of any rule that states that only the equipment manager and his staff can handle the equipment. I wouldn't be surprised if long term game day staff help out with the equipment staff all the time preparing equipment on game day. Is it really all that ridiculous to believe that McNally assisted Jastremski on game days to get some of the equipment ready?

By time you got to your first comma, I stopped reading.

.

Listening to Tanguay is no different than eating lead paint chips by the bagful.

Tanguay knows less about football than my dead great grandmother. The guy writes a bunch of 'me too' columns where he regurgitates points the contrarian *******'s on sports radio already made a week before. Watching Tanguay and Volin pretend to be real journalist is more aggravating than their stupid opinions.

While having someone jam shards o' glass covered pointed stakes in your ears.

Tanguay said, some time ago, that he realized he couldn't be a "nice guy homer" anymore to survive in the media. That's a paraphrase of his exact words, if that makes sense. His new tough guy contrarian anti-home team schtick is a complete act.
In his previous life on Pats pregame he also tried to stir schit up, but it was in pumping the other teams' tires - not attacking and belittling the Patriots. An example I remember - and I'll swear to this on a Bible - was in the pregame for the game vs Houston at home in 2006. I had season tickets then but we always listened to the pregame in the truck to the game and in the parking lot. Tanguay was incessantly "warning" the fans - "don't underestimate David Carr." it was really over the top, as in he was afraid no one would listen if he didn't make the game more interesting (9-4 Pats vs 4-9 Houston). This was the beginning of my hatred of all things Tanguay. Result - Pats win 40-7, the game is never close, and Carr throws 4 picks.....I remember someone calling Tanguay out in postgame - might've been Gresh, not sure, but Tanguay backpedaled and didn't cop to being wrong.
Tanguay is terrible...

Paint chips are probably better for your health

That reminds me of when Albert Breer went on the radio week after week in 2011 saying "[the team the Pats were facing that week] was a much tougher match up for the Pats than people think". And the the Pats would trounce the team on the way to going to the Super Bowl.

What I don't get is if his job was only what they say -- he didn't have much of a job. Pretty wasteful employment practice. Having him involved in game-day ball prep makes a whole lot of sense.

But you're right -- it's a thing, which I've seen a lot from Patriots haters elsewhere.

I think the point is that a lot of the texts can be explained away if McNally is involved with ball prep, for example "you must be under a lot of stress to get them done." If he was involved with ball prep you could say that refers to prepping the balls before handing them to the officials. But he wasnt so they had to make up that stupid story how he was under stress to sell his 50 yd line tickets. I didnt realize this until recently and i think it is one of the better points for the league.

What did we do to deserve these clowns? Tanguay, Volin, Tomase? We are a proud sports town and find it odd they haven't been run out of town. Can't we just have elections every 2 years and out these idiots?

It's kind of embarrassing to have guests like McCann,Stradley and Sally on the air with these clowns. They must go away thinking how do these fools represent that region?
