Listening to Bevis and Butthead (Volin and Tanguay) with John Dennis, I heard themm say something that the people who want to hang Brady and the Patriots always said and I don't get. They kept on harping on if McNally helped to prepare the balls before the game, it is clear that Brady is guilty because "it isn't his job". I never got that.

I am unaware of any rule that states that only the equipment manager and his staff can handle the equipment. I wouldn't be surprised if long term game day staff help out with the equipment staff all the time preparing equipment on game day. Is it really all that ridiculous to believe that McNally assisted Jastremski on game days to get some of the equipment ready?

Listening to Tanguay is no different than eating lead paint chips by the bagful.

They just had Mike McCann on talking about the case and Tanguay was clearly upset that McCann thinks that Brady has the upper hand and should hold out for nothing more than a fine. He kept on asking pointed questions trying to get McCann to say that the NFL had a better case and McCann wanted no part of it. Right after McCann ended his interview, Volin asked Tanguay "What's the matter? Looks like you are falling asleep." and Tanguay responded "No! I just don't agree with anything he said".

I agree, this argument drives me nuts. Especially when they have made it clear that Mcnally is bringing a highlighted copy of the rule to the officials.

So, it clearly is his job to be involved in the inflation level of footballs, he is the only one telling the officials what Tom's preferences are!

What a crock that was. Why was McCann, graduate of Harvard Law, long time law professor, expert in sports law, being cross-examined by Gary f'ing Tanguay?

Because, as Tanguay admitted, he is pissed off because he blames the Pats for 98.5 firing him as a the pregame host. He wants to make Brady and the Pats look bad.

It's embarrassing listening to Dennis have to speak logic to MCI and Tanguay. Straight up morons can't acknowledge that maybe Brady gave the more complicated answer (instead of the easy way out) because it was the truth.

What was McCanns demeanor? Was he irritated? Was he calm (I'm sure)?. I just wonder what he is thinking right now. Tanguay AND Volin. What the hell are they thinking??

I listened to Mark Schlereth on Dan Patrick recently, and he said that he sometimes helped break in the balls for John Elway.

McCann took it in stride. He was respectful of Tanguay and took him down with intelligent arguments rather than anything in his tone. Tanguay looked like an a-hole and is now getting blasted by callers.

As others have said, Tanguay has an agenda vs the Pats. Hes trying to make himself relevant in the Boston sports media scene and the only way to do it is to be a hard-line contrarian.

His article from a few days ago clearly illustrates his over-inflated notion of his relevance in this market.

I've become Enemy Number One in Patriots Nation for simply believing Brady is guilty of committing the smallest of infractions.

Enemy #1? He isn't even in the top 50.

It's a shame that WEEI is now prescribing to the "Ratings through trolling" formula that's been so successful for their rival's afternoon show

Only certain people...Tanguay is one of the worst, as mentioned probably due to the patriots firing his ass.

Holley, dale and thornton are the best. Zolak is great. Several others are decent and fair/amusing/informative.

Felger and mazz rarely make it on my radio, even during a commercial anymore, they are the worst with Tanguay right there as well. Assclowns looking for ratings by upsetting, insulting and otherwise being contrarians all the way.

I enjoyed when one caller ripped him to shreds. All Tanguay could say was "I like you too". That's his self defense mechanism when he can't respond to someone essentially calling him a moron, contrarian wannabee.

It was made clear in the appeal transcript that McNally's job regularly included bringing the balls from the officials' locker room onto the field at the start of the game. This was specifically asked of Wells, and he did not dispute it, and in fact agreed that there was undisputed testimony that it was part of his regular game day duty to bring balls onto the field and him bringing them onto the field in and of itself was not important to his findings. The only dispute was over whether he had gotten permission from game day officials to bring them out unescorted in that particular instance.

Same here. I did break my rule yesterday and listened during a WEEI commercial break, and I was just in time to hear Felger say that Belichick is probably involved in deflating footballs but the NFL is doing the a Patriots a favor by not going after him because goodell and Kraft are such good friends.

I then punched myself in the face for tuning into the Troll Show
