Did people miss that the ravens admitted to using illegal special team footballs. Aren't those supposed to be new out of box, not prepared like the special coach team complained about

Funny part is that Vincent and Kensil misunderstood Grigson when he said "We are playing with a small ball." Turns out Grigson was actually talking about a personal problem.

The teams are allowed 45 minutes before the game to prep their k-balls.

While researching the above, I stumbled across a quaint article from 1994 discussing the matter:

NFL officials have sent a directive to all teams, threatening a $20,000 fine for tampering with the ball. The fine would not necessarily be charged against the kicker--for some of these guys, that's just pedicure money--but against working stiffs, such as the equipment managers.
