Mort is no idiot. He knows he was used. He knows he was lied to.

First, he cancels an appearance on short notice. Now, he says he wasn't even lied to.

ESPN does not tolerate reports critical of the NFL. It might also be why Mike Reiss hasn't commented on it recently. I'd love to see that internal memo.

They're cutting deadwood at ESPN anyway. They've got lots of live sports contracts and less money coming in. He wants his full retirement, so he lies like a dog.

Wow, I just read the entire interview. I can't believe those are the words of a successful 60+ year old man. He sounds like a 13 year old kid that was taken advantage of by the popular kids (bullies). Instead of standing up to them , he makes excuses for them hoping that they will still like him. He needs to grow some balls and stand up for himself, otherwise they know that they own him. It's pitiful. I almost feel bad for the guy.

Reading the entire interview, this jerk is not admitting any wrong doing by him or the league. To me he did this interview to defend the leagues after Robert Krafts comments. He is saying that league didn't need to correct his report because he corrected it using the word "under inflated". I am guessing the league will use the same wording to justify the reason for them not correcting the false report.
