Risky strategy. Two of those go down, who's stepping in ? I like NE's take on it. There will be guys who do not start that will be more than serviceable.

Sounds like Wilson is taking a page from Payaton's book......

$50M for the next 43

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/03/seahawks-cant-pay-many-any-more-guys/

the pats top 10 = ~$66M

$84M for the next 43

this is why the pats will still be good while the seahwks wind up going the way of the 9ers

on the other hand, it doesn't really matter since they will only go as far as lynch takes them or they ask him to take them
not risky if cap is increasing every year by almost 10mil. Next year or in two years cap s gonna be 160mil.
Seahawks are extremly lucky with cap increasing, so we shouldnt write them off so easily. And they let go some players who arent so valuable like, Maxwell, last year Browner and some DT guy, FA is overpaying them and they are getting compensatory picks.
Im impressed with this Schneider dude, but again few years ago they were picking top 10 in first round, not like pats who are pickin in 30s almost every year.

I would love to know Collins was staying put for the long run. He is new to the League but he's done more than enough to convince me he's worth keeping.

You can already see the Seahawk's defense start to decline. They thought their Secondary was shutdown because of their DBs but in reality it was their DL that made the Secondary shutdown. Obviously Earl Thomas and Sherman are incredible players but it's a lot easier to find opportunities when the DL isn't in your face in 2 seconds.

On the defense its all about that d line and they are killing the depth now If they are replacing them with younger cheaper talent and don't drop off that is masterful.
I'm sure Petey has a fistful of Peds for everybody.

That being said really hoping that McDaniel doesn't sign with the Colts.
Thinking Broncos or Falcons

collectively, those top 10 guys increase their cap hits by 22M from 2015-2016 not including any roster bonuses....it's important to keep your top players.........looking at their contracts, I'd go so far as to say that Bruce Irvin, Jimmy Graham, JR Sweezy will be elsewhere next year

and then there's what to do with Micheal Bennett who is slated to get 1M/game roster bonuses in 2016, so I would not be surprised if he's not around either

they lost unger and carpenter, and jimmy graham takes the seahawks a step away from effective run blocking.

It won't be the same team that they have predicated success upon to date

If lynch or Graham goes down watch out that offense would be awful.

if they lost graham, their offense would go back to being what it was last year......lynch is even more important than wilson

Lynch is at the age when running backs begin breaking down, especially ones who are as physical as he. He's made it clear that he's seriously contemplating retirement following this season. I think the Seahawks will be in trouble in the next few years.

Wagner's not as good as Kuechly or Collins (and Hightower's not that far off), so it's going to be interesting to see what happens when those guys come up for renewal.

Watch out now there are some posters on here that think this statement is blasphemous.

The team that won the SB in 2013 was very deep, it had a ton of talent in the front 7, secondary, and offensive line. Going forward the team is not going to be that deep.

I would love to know Collins was staying put for the long run. He is new to the League but he's done more than enough to convince me he's worth keeping.
We gotta keep him and Hightower together. This is why I'm not as focused on us getting Chandler Jones back when all of their contracts are up in 2016. I like Chandler, but when it comes to re signing these guys the two LB's must be priority number one with Collins on the top of the list.

It never had a deep offensive line

100% agree.

Jamie Collins is a grade a+ stud, hes the type of player teams are going to come after hard. good work ethic, great skills, smart. hes a corner stone type defensive player.

If there's any one that might be comparable to him it's Lavonte David. And Lavonte David is a very very good player.
