Florio alleges NFL conspiracy

Exactly. NBC isn't beholden to corrupt sports leagues. Without those, ESPN is nothing. Wait, ESPN is nothing.
Sad part is alot of people take espn's word as gospel....I just ran a few errands and a short time I was in the car I heard "Belichick is sick of this and wants Brady to accept the suspension " and " Brady is definitely going to be serving some kind of suspension " . No talk that he could win, no talk of all the lies being published alot more in last week etc. Not to mention anybody who has ever followed Belichick knows there's no way in hell he said that, but yet they keep putting that crap out there.

Your referencing Rats couldn't be more appropriate for this situation considering the NFL* background of most of the protagonists.

;..Rats following the pied piper.

Is the pied piper Roger Goodell or a few owners of the other 31? I'll conveniently stick with Roger.

I wish that was the case, but it is a case of just Pats fans descending on PFT. If you read carefully, those commenting sound just like you and I.

Not so sure. I've seen some recent Reddit links shared on this forum that had fans across the board supporting the anti-Goodell mantra.

It's why a massive shakeup in the media is needed. There needs to be the cleansing of the filth to include many, many of the local media. This should be their Waterloo. I remember Tomase being blacklisted for years after his false Rams walkthrough taping story. The same thing should happen here. You should never hear the comments you said you heard. Maybe on some dark Internet message board, but not on the radio. We have some of the most irresponsible "journalists" and radio hosts in the world. Since it would be the easiest, we should try to oust Trollin Volin. Any idea on how?

If Goodell's ruling is vacated, is that the appeal or Vincent's original hearing or both? What I'm asking is if Vincent's ruling would be the baseline or if a new appeal would start from scratch.
We should be asking this of one of the litigators out here, like MassPats38, but it's my amateur understanding that if the "Arbiter's" ruling is vacated, Vincent's findings and recommendations would stand but the Appeal would be referred to an independent arbiter, no doubt assigned by the court, which might also issue an injunction against the penalties until the Appeal is resolved.

That is the last thing that Goodell wants as it its becoming increasingly evident that an independent arbiter would throw the whole rotten mess out the window.

That is why Goodell seems to have "bet the farm" by filing his Motion to have his Ruling upheld. That was probably a good strategy in theory, but it might have been upended by the appointment of Berman, who most likely doesn't fit the profile of the friendly corporate judge Goodell thought the odds were good he would get.

Yeah I heard it too on CBS radio and others that pats may want brady to take 1 game suspension and he has always been a team player taking less money etc etc so he may do it.I hope not.

So the judge is allowed to force re arbitration or he can just rule if the punishments are wrong and life the punishment ? Seems like the judge wouldnt want want this to linger in another arbitration heading to court again later , right ? Or maybe that is/should be the settlement play from the NFLPA.?

Posted this elsewhere, this thread is better. Chad Finn...

I thought this was interesting. Dennis knows Kensil tipped the other three rats who tipped Mort...and Kraft knows it because he and Dennis are close from when Kraft owned channel 7 and Dennis was an anchor...

Wonder what happens if this ball of twine starts to unwind.

[By the way, this Chad Finn is pretty decent (knows how to google), why do they need that incompetent Volin to write the marquee column?]

Chad Finn never gives much analysis that loyal fans don't already know, but he's like an old school Simmons. A big Boston fan with an entertaining writing style. He has rare integrity for his profession. Definately worth reading and a rare talent among Boston sports journalism.

Part of the problem is that the shakeup you call for is happening. Newspapers are collapsing, and real investigations are becoming a thing of the past as a result.

Well I'm meaning mouthpieces need to be fired. I agree the media is having somewhat of a shakeup. It's because their reporters aren't doing their jobs anymore. I use Volin as a prime example of why print media is failing. He can do no better of a job than you or I right now. None. That's unacceptable. He should be let go. Also, where are the investigative reporters? It's a different thing to take a document and report on it. To get sources to talk and root out the actual story is something totally different.

That's why I deferred to someone who actually knows what they are talking about...I just don't know the details.

The same people who could have given it to Kraft?

If it is from someone who knows the truth, it would have had to come from the League office or ESPN if it didn't come from ESPN. How would John Dennis get this scoop over like a thousand nation writers or journalists who follow the team and have contact with these people? It seems pretty clear it came from the Patriots.

The funny (sad) thing is that both Brady and Kraft could take the NFL and ESPN to court for defamation and win like a billion dollars and there will still people who still believe that 11 of the 12 balls were 2 PSI under 12.5.

My interpretation of the analogy is that the Pied Piper is the magical agent of change, and overseer of fair play (see second part of the fable when the children follow the rats). I think that Florio has earned that distinction with his well-considered posts on the subject. Goodell, on the hand, is the largest and meanest of the rat pack, and probably the last to vacate the town.

Not going to disagree. You were wondering who would have told Dennis if it wasn't Kraft. I just went with the obvious answer.

Plus, I'm not 100% certain if the Patriots know. But, they should have a very good idea. I'd like to see some more information released from them to keep journalist interest focused on Goodell and the behaviors coming from that office.

P King is on his camp tour, he was the first major media FB guy to question the science after he talked to Palm Beach Pats Fan, and looked at the Head Start Labs stuff. He appears on Florio's NBCSN program on a regular basis during the reg season and will be aware of Sally Jenkin's work.

I think we will hear from him soon of the latest from the emails and the Mort issue.

Ode to Roger Goodell

We stood on an elevator and Roger farted
He then blamed me as we all departed,
I pointed to the stain in the back of his pants
but they continued to pound me with accusatory rants,
belittled and betrayed I went out on a limb
I asked "how is it me when the smell follows him?",
my actions were futile and my spirit began to fray
So I ran to a source that would see the logic my way,
the fans of the pats who are educated and bright
and full of tenacity and a willingness to fight,
They tracked Roger down and pinned his cronies to a wall
and one by one their stories began to fall,
The last thing I remember as I left the scene
was Roger in tears kissing Brady's four f***ing rings.

My guess is the Pats know for sure. The question is can they prove it? I am no lawyer, but I think they have a decent shot at a defamation case even with the high bar for a famous person/entity. Based on the Mort interview with WEEI, you can convince a jury that the leak had to come from a League official even if they cannot catch Kensil red handed (remember is it a more likely than not scenario) and they have physical proof that the League refused to correct their own lie which would constitute malice. Celebrities go to court for defamation with less evidence.

That's an interesting and likeable take.

I took it as Roger being the Piper and with his lies (magical flute) lead all his cronies ( children) and other followers to their demise.

As long as Roger is on the losing end, I'll like it. haha
