Mort’s January appearance on WEEI shows that he wasn’t lied to by one person on one occasion, but by multiple people on multiple occasions, regarding key facts beyond the notion that the Patriots footballs were two pounds under the minimum. It’s also now obvious that his sources were within the league office

With all due respect to Judge Berman, this offends anyone's sense of justice and is not grounds for a settlement.

I texted this to D&C on Friday but they didn't follow up on it. The fact that Mortenson was given the same lies multiple times by multiple league sources is clear evidence of conspiracy within the league office to provide the same lies regarding the actual facts to ESPN so they could smear the Patriots. This is FIFA level corruption and needs to be treated as a criminal act designed to damage the Patriots brand. When league officials are engaged in deliberately defrauding a franchise and player of almost 3 million dollars and a very high value draft pick it is not simply a league matter but a criminal matter and should be treated as such.

but the NFL would never participate in a conspiracy against the Patriots! :rolleyes::D

Florio has been fantastic. He obviously sees a major injustice and he is hell-bent on seeking the truth.

His reporting and analysis has been exceptional since the Wells Report was made public

Great news some reporters are starting to put the pieces together, hope Sally Jenkins sees this.

Since Pro-Football Talk is part of NBC and Sunday Night Football is on NBC, you have to wonder why the NFL isn't pressuring NBC the way they are pressuring ESPN.

And the muttering grew to a grumbling;
And the grumbling grew to a mighty rumbling;
And out of the houses the rats came tumbling.
Great rats, small rats, lean rats, brawny rats,
Brown rats, black rats, grey rats, tawny rats,
Grave old plodders, gay young friskers,
Fathers, mothers, uncles, cousins,
****ing tails and pricking whiskers,
Families by tens and dozens,
Brothers, sisters, husbands, wives --
Followed the Piper for their lives.

......and so it begins, or so I hope

The man is tireless....

The Patriots should ask the FBI to investigate the effort within the league office to seriously damage the Patriots franchise and star player. That will send shudders through the league office and owners.

Well Florio is also upset that his original scoop of footbals were a few tick underneath didnt get enough cover and mort screwed up. Regardless, he is doing a good job. I will two of the biggest NFL media companies in ESPN and NFLN were not anti pats. Else this could spread like crazy.

This nugget from florio should be in the wells context report.

That "rule" stating that the higher 1st round draft pick would be confiscated proves bad faith, they should stripe only our 1st round pick by merit, not any possible draft pick acquired via trade.

Man I hope NFL's house of cards collapse in this investigation, I want the FBI leaving the NFL office with tons of computers confiscated for analysis.

Multiple lies here:

-Mort goes back to his sources when new report surfaces saying Pats balls were only about 1 pound low vs. 2, source says "no, that's wrong, we are right"
-Sources say all Colts balls were within regulation - only 4 were actually tested, and 3 of 4 were out of regulation
-Sources say Colts also preferred balls inflated to low end of spec - Wells Report shows they actually wanted middle of spec

“You’re saying that they’re telling the truth and we’re disseminating misinformation,” Mortensen said

"Yes" says the entire world

Looking forward to a new league rule that disqualifies anybody who currently does or ever has rooted for the New Jersey Jets at any point or their life from working in the NFL league office.

They probably don't have that much power over NBC as they have over ESPN.

Good point, NBC is paying more for their games, and the Sunday night game is the NFL national showcase during the reg season can' hose them on the game selection the way the can with MNF.
