Lupica Again!

If the NFL is forced to be transparent with the psi recordings in their new ball handling policy, they will have to admit that deflation occurs naturally. The media will have to tell the truth then.

I am a little concerned with their proposed process though. It leaves too much room for manipulation potential in the process. But there might be enough outside attention that they would have to get it right. Still worried though.

He's not defending Brady at all. He thinks both sides are bad with goodell being worse. It's like Kerry vs Bush. Whoever you vote for, you're f-ed.

You're talking about a New York Daily News columnist for God's sake.

Keep perspective!

That's just as tone deaf as celebrating a local yokel like Curran or Hurley for supporting Brady.

It's not the "Dog bites man" event that is noteworthy. It is the "Man bites dog". When someone steps OUT from what would be considered the norm for their locale and position, THAT makes it noteworthy.

The most famous sports columnist at the New York Daily News , a columnist who does not like the Patriots in the least) just wrote: "But now I hope that Brady does in federal court what he's done for one of the great careers in the history of American sports:
I hope he wins."

That's a momentum shift for someone who was burying Brady a few months back. We need more like that nationally.

Wow, he was really one of the ignorant sheep in that article.

Exactly. Which makes the last two more recent ones this week more telling.

A New York writer (with national cred) has come around to supporting Brady based on the aggregating information.

I live in NY, Lupica has defended Brady and the Pats from the day after the AFC championship game.

You make a great point there.

Read Shmessy's link. That was not defending at all. It was definitely trashing Brady.

So you decided NOT to read the link to his 5/7/2015 column shown in this thread.

You must have beat me by 0.3 seconds on that response.

Yeah, but it was actually eom who posted that link. For Brettlax3434, that is post #18, btw.

I don't know why anybody cares what these media clowns have to say good or bad. just a lot of verbal diarrhea.

Apologies to eom. And since I can't get my sources right I'm heading 98.5 for a job application.

and rightly so, they will probably make Kensil the ball boy. But there will be heavy scrutiny.

It's funny to me that the media's take is that this has become a pissing contest. That's what it's been all along. At first it was the Pats v. the League and now it's morphed into Goodell v. Brady. The contest is the same it's the participants that have changed.

The Pats never have been instigators, though.

That's an interesting point.

It has nothing to do with hate - it has to do with realizing that the story here is a corrupt league at the heart of the most popular sport in the country. That's the big story and it's a bombshell if someone out there has the journalistic skills to break it.

I'm surprised someone in the media hasn't run with this yet. Or maybe they are working on it and we just don't know. That's a career making story, though. The ESPN folks won't touch it and someone like Peter King is in too deep to do it, but there's got to be someone out there who's willing to connect the dots and expose the NFL at the height of it's popularity.

I think the League Boys Club would say that they were. They were too successful. That's the source of all of this.

Edit: Too much success and Belichick. If BB were better at playing the game, the hate would be less. But BB is who he is and I don't want him to change.

But I wish he'd acknowledged that when Brady was giving his half-hearted denials, he 't know didn't know what he was denying because the information was wrong.

That's a common flaw, both in articles that are terrible from top to bottom (e.g. Tomase, who also manages to argue that Federal court would be the first time Brady would go under oath, so Brady should settle to cover up his guilt) and in articles that are mainly good.
