Thought it was worth mentioning. I did not know it was being broadcasted.

I guess they do both kids and adults at the same games.

Is Goodell competing this year?

Those kids add a lot of positive energy to this world.

Goodell does not qualify to participate in anything decent and fair unless of course he wants to volunteer to catch the javelins during the javelin throwing event.

My cousin's band played at the opening festivities last weekend, which took place at the LA/Pasadena Colisseum, through a partnership with Coca-Cola.

They invited some of the kids onstage as background singers, etc. It was a class move. Gotta have a lot of respect for the strength of these people. What an awesome organization.

Triumph of the Human Spirit.

BTW, Tom Brady does great work with the Special Olympics.

I have a theory his work is just yet another part of the BB scouting department. They will literally look anywhere for that hidden gem.

No need to be mean to the contestants.

In another year, Jamaal Charles was among their number.

As a child, Charles suffered from a severe learning disability and competed in the Special Olympics.

...
“When I was 10 years old, I had a chance to compete in the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics gave me my first chance to discover a talent I did not know I had.”
Charles won a gold medal in track and field that year, which instilled much-needed confidence going forward. He went on to the University of Texas, winning a national championship and was even named to the Big 12 all-academic team.

It was a truly courageous and inspiring moment from one of the NFL’s best.

Eunice Shriver's mission was to help these kids feel what it's like to win, but more importantly lose because how else do you find out what your best truly is by losing, getting better and trying again?

Great story. Thanks for sharing

If Goodell had a 10th of the spirit, compassion and motivation that people involved with this program have he'd be a better person for it.
