Shhhhhhh. The NFL will send its minions to investigate if studying the playbook and watching film as a young player gives some sort of competitive advantage over other teams.

Picture of said league minions. Be on the lookout.

The league minion should be Jet green, just like all the others!

What I saw today:

-Jimmy G holds onto the ball too long. That's the biggest weakness in his game right now.

-Edelman is amost uncoverable. This isn't news.

-Antonio Johnson was getting some early work with the first team. He also won an offseason award. Interested to see him in the preseason.

-Butler's confidence/demeanor is awesome. You can see him play with a lot of emotion and start to coach up the young kids, such as Roberts/Richards. He was great today too. He wants to be the leader of the CBs.

-Scott Chandler was used extensively.

-Corner depth chart today:

CB1: Butler
CB2: Ryan
nickel: McClain

second team was Fletcher/Roberts. Didn't see Brown get much work at all. Hopefully that'll change as he gets acclimated.

-Gray was the first team RB in drills. He got yelled at by Fears a drill across the field. Not sure why.

- UDFA CB Jean is interesting. He's 6'3, and looked like he had a nice press a couple of times in WR/CB drills. Another player I want to see this preseason.

-Zach Moore looks like a freak. 290 lbs of rock.

It looks like PFW training camp notes are now in audio only?

Jimmy Jean - he's my binky.

I really want shaq to get a chance. I see something special in him. we'll have to see if there's a downside or not.
I agree! If Mason was 2 inches taller he would have been end of the first round/early second round selection.

I am very excited for this draft class.

Sounds like Revis had a substantial impact on Butler. I love it

Moore is very noticeably bigger and they were using him at DT a lot today. The front 7 is getting very crowded. There will be some talent cut from that position.

He's sure sudden. Hits like a truck too. Maybe he'll be like Nink or Siliga, hanging around the league long enough for the right situation. I doubt the team is worrying about prototype pass rusher size, especially since they have chandler. I think anyone that can rush the passer is going to get a good look. Good tip, btw.
He's very athletic too. 40-yard dash (4.53 sec), three-cone (6.69 sec) and short shuttle (3.97 sec) at his pro day.

I said at the beginning of the year that this year's success would depend on 3 things (injuries aside)

#1 We need the Guards to step up. - Right now they are doing okay. Both are where i thought they would be at this point. They seem to be NFL ready in the run game but need to work on pass blocking. Plenty of time but I want to see this improve as camp goes on. So far so good though

#2 Easley/Brown Need to make an impact - Easley appears sudden but a little sloppy his first day back. That's fine. I am just glad he looks sudden. plenty of time to work the kinks out. Brown I have not heard a ton about as far as wow plays I get the impression he has been consistently good. So far so good though.

#3 We need 1 CB to step up and by the guy we can set up around - This I think already might have happened. The old saying goes once is a fluke. Twice is a coincidence. Three times is a trend. Every camp so far has either been good to very good for Butler. I think he will be the answer here and we will fill on the other CB spot around him. Surprisingly right now CB is the issue I feel most confident about with these 3 as I feel Butler is ahead of the Guards and DTs.

There are other concerns too but these were my main ones as I am taking a lot of spots for granted due to proven vets there.

Why? It's not like he made the best play in Patriots history or anything.

He isn't a rookie he is following up last year by stepping up early in camp no reason to pump anything.

because all of us love the dude, but let's not put him in hof yet cuz of one play.
I'll be happy if the dude can just be a consistent starting corner.

fyi, me and my buddy were raving about the guy last year in preseason --- I thought he could actually start if push came to shove + there were some injuries, but his limited sample during the year wasn't the greatest ---- except for the final game, of course...........

Special teams? I could see them keeping extra pass rushers.

I agree with other posters here that is Moore makes this team it will likely be at the expense of Chris Jones. I know they are not cutting Siliga, Brown or Easley and keeping both Jones and Moore makes your DTs a bit too undersized.

Pass rushers. They've got a bunch, but somebody's going to have to step up. Only so many can play or be on the roster.
