@NEPD_Loyko: Early buzz out of camp on Malcolm Butler is highly encouraging. Team thinks he can make a huge jump and be impact player. It's all on him.

@KevinRDuffy: See last tweet for extended camp notes, but biggest takeaway through 3 days is Malcolm Butler's performance. Highly competitive each play.

@MikeGiardi: Malcolm Butler was by far and away the best Patriots cornerback on the field today. Glued to receivers. So fluid. Confident

Lol I was sitting next to the fans with those signs. They were funny. Yelling stuff like "Brady is the only man that can date my mom!" And "Hey Malcolm! Great catch! Thanks for that!"

Brought some good energy

So basically the reports through 3 days is Belichick keeping Butler off the field for those handful of OTA practices didn't effect him negatively ?

It's still early in camp, but this makes me feel a lot better about my prediction that Butler would be a very good CB1 for us.

I think the SB was the beginning of the his emergence to stardom.

Edes is a shifty shorter wr. While the report does promote confidence in his abilities, Butler will be going up against some very different skill sets (physical size, leaping ability) on the outside if he ends up as one of the outside CBs as many here project.

Great cornerbacks are born, not made IMO. The type of nervous system where you react fluidly is part of your being. Of course you need to have speed work ethic and other qualities but i don't think a "twitchy" player can be more than very good, like a great defensive player or shot blocker in basketball. I saw it in Asante right away, but his character kept him from reaching full potential IMO.

If Butler continues to work, we got a player rarely seen outside of the first round [top of the 1st if he was bigger] just for following up on our networking.

Take that NFL!

I really want shaq to get a chance. I see something special in him. we'll have to see if there's a downside or not.

I'm very intrigued by Eric Martin. Watching his highlight videos on YT he seems to have some serious speed off the edge.

I would imagine right this minute it would be work needed on pass blocking, but I'm not too worried about it.

superexcited about these linemen --- have no idea who thinks linemen don't make for a sexy draft.

Shhhhhhh. The NFL will send its minions to investigate if studying the playbook and watching film as a young player gives some sort of competitive advantage over other teams.

Picture of said league minions. Be on the lookout.

He's sure sudden. Hits like a truck too. Maybe he'll be like Nink or Siliga, hanging around the league long enough for the right situation. I doubt the team is worrying about prototype pass rusher size, especially since they have chandler. I think anyone that can rush the passer is going to get a good look. Good tip, btw.

let's tap the brakes a little bit on the butler hype

Yeah, this guy will never help us win a championship.
