Patriots publish emails to nfl asking to correct false deflategate reports

My favorite line from above:

"If there's only 2 guys on the elevator, both of them know who farted."

How have I not ever heard that phrase before???? :D

Kraft climbed a few more rungs on the ladder today in my book.

I will never forget but I am starting to forgive, especially if he is the one that authorized the leaks. As Stradley mentioned and was posted above, he violate article 9.1 and left himself open to punishment. However, I would find it amusing if he used one of Pash's answers to address the leaks to the NFL.

Lol reminds me of a time when I was driving my nephew (12 yr old) to guitar classes and I smelled a fart and he tried to blame it on me. I was like are you serious? its only you and me in the car and I know I didn't so it can only be you. He was like well fine, but what should I say when someone tries to blame it on me? Told him if its only you and one other person just laugh it off, otherwise blame the 3rd person, or 4th, 5th ...etc.

I can't believe what I was reading there. Non Patriots Fan actually knew the real details about spygate? and another fan stated, "It's not the Pats vs the NFL it's the League vs the NFL". Wow.

That reddit thread is gold. Wow.

You could make a strong argument that they aren't technically criticizing them, just giving context by revealing their own words and actions without comment.
Much like the truth is a defense to slander, here it is just revealing the truth.

Technically, I'm sure the NFL could fine or otherwise punish the Patriots. Somehow, however, I think they're not going to in this instance ...

Do you think Jeffrey Pash will surrender his laptop if the Patriots demand he turn it over for inspection?
No.

He can legitimately claim privilege. He's an attorney for the NFL after all.

I tweeted Breer back, saying something like I couldn't remember a sports league acting like this ever either….wait, except Bountygate, Ray Rice, Etc…..
Like I said earlier, he's made the David Stern NBA look fair and legit.

I wonder if the league was stupid enough to email their request to have the two ball handlers suspended, if so, hope pats release it as well.
I am sure that has to come out if so. Schefter even said pats were asked to do so but then the NFL said they didnt and Schefter kept quiet. I guess that leak came from the pats.

As much as Florio grandstands and does weird moralizing to troll, bottom line is he is a lawyer and can navigate the legal fog better than most. This is also, IIRC, how he ended up taking the players' side during the Saints bounty fiasco. He is smart enough in the court domain to know when things are askew and he uses that to get hits.

Whereas Volin has to wait for his mom to pick him up at the bus stop (TVland lol).
This is also how Florio rose to fame in the first place... with the Michael Vick legal stuff that nobody else understood.

That's also what dogs are for. They'll always take the blame.

Back from my ban.

I love these emails. Love them. However, how does this fit into the Judges rhetoric statement? Or does that only pertain to Brady and the NFL?

So let's see...

Brady v. NFL (or whatever) is all labor law, "Rule of the shop" or whatevah. It has to do with "You never said what the punishment was, and it turned out to be crazy," along with "You don't have proof the employee did it," etc.

It seems like that's the court of going to court. This is the court of public opinion, where Goodell* has made most of his bones.

From a communications perspective, this could do a couple of things...

- to Pats fans, and more-than-casual football fans, it shows how pissed the Patriots are about the way the League was smearing them. It gives substance to the notion that the Pats weren't like "oh okay you caught us." Everybody who says "If you're innocent you immediately scream from every rooftop" gets the message that, um, no not necessarily when there are businesses involved.

- Again, to Pats fans, it's some palpable action on Kraft's part fighting the NFL (however late and anemic, at least if this is it.)

This is one email exchange. I do not know whether this is the first of many public data dumps or whether such communications ended after the first day of the "scandal."

The Brady suit is all well and good, the big hit is the draft picks. It would be great to see any path back from that, but I don't see it. All they can do is say "Eff this, NFL, we can do this **** too" -- which appears to be what the Pats are doing here.

This is also how Florio rose to fame in the first place... with the Michael Vick legal stuff that nobody else understood.

That's another situation that Mortensen got wrong. He reported at the time that there was no way Vick would be indicted.

The Patriots are just helping the NFL with being transparent. They've stated repeatedly that that's their goal, clearly the need a hand from a friend.

Open and fair, and that's the NFL away.

Why did Vick get boned too by the NFL somehow? Man I gotta pay more attention if so. I recently realized I wasn't fair to big ben. Rapist or not(as weird as it sounds, and I 100% do not codone sexual assault IF he did it) the NFL has no proof and should not punish somebody they have no proof or criminal charges.

I'm thinking of holding the first annual Fartapalooza up at Prouts Neck in Scarborough ,Maine.
To kick off the festivities, I will be providing free baked beans and hot dogs, along with my own special microbrew, Gas Gangster Ale..to the first 5000 Patriots that show up. After the al fresco gourmet dining experience, the Josef Kerrgozinski Oom Pah Pah polka band will play in a parade through the entire Prout's Neck conclave for the enjoyment of the area residents. Sign up early and remember, the first 500 people in line get an official Fartapalooza Fart Pillow folding chair, easy to set up and watch the festivities while passing wind on the lawn at Bohemia Way, home of Roger "Fartface" Goodell.

..we dressed up in Mr. Goodell's favorite color for the first Fartapalooza in Maine history!!!

The basic premise seemed to be 1) multiple allegations + 2) witnesses/victims paid off = no charges, but Goodell believed that something probably happened anyway, so **** it. Suspension it is.
