Site issues - post here

Found what the issue might be. The "Upload a File" button uses Flash, and the current version of Flash seems to have a conflict that's causing that to crash, which creates a broken block that I'm betting is covering over the "Post Reply" button and making it unable to be pushed.

I'll have to dig a little further to see if there's a workaround. Hang with me a little longer on this.

Ian, can we get an update on the Tapatalk situation? Thanks in advance.

Hi Ian,

My computer has slowed down to a crawl after the twitter feed was added.

Any suggestions?

I agree with all of the Twitter complaints.

For the love of Ganja, please remove that crap immediately, especially since half of it is from people
whom I HAVE NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER IN READING.

same here....i have the task manager opened anytime im on this site now.
keep crashing the plugins.

Add me to the list of people with issues on the site since you added the scrolling thingee whatsis at the top. And that's saying something considering I'm running with 32GB of RAM on Windows 7 Ultimate..

The Twitter feed sends a request to check for updates every 5 seconds. That's way too frequently especially given that users will be going from page to page 30 seconds to few minutes or more. Also on a forum users tend to open up several tabs (one per thread maybe) so you're looking at (N tabs * 12) requests per minute.

This will also destroy mobile batteries. I'd recommend setting the polling frequency to somewhere between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.

Another note is that the tab I have open to patsfans.com is continuously using between 45% and 70% of one of my CPUs. That's really high.

Yesterday the Twitter scroll was only on the main page and not on every individual thread. I didn't seem to have a problem yesterday.

Not sure if that helps.

Yeah, the Twitter feed crashed my laptop. :(

Now to be fair, without it, you wouldn't have gotten instructions on public toilet hygiene from McCourty or know what the bedspreads look like at the Greenbrier (thanks to Nink).

The Twitter feed is not only affecting this window of my browser, but each of the other windows as well.. Please dispose of it immediately..
