Whatever journalistic skills Volin may have, dealing well with the speed of social media doesn't seem to be among them.

Every team has a bunch of rules for the media about tweeting or reporting on specific formations/plays and stuff like that from practice. Varies between teams.

Sounds like a kid from northen Maine walking the streets of Dorchester at 2am. 1) You don't do that. 2) If you do, make sure you are with people who know the streets.

If you can't swim in the deep water, either go back to the kiddie pool or get floaties.

I appreciate JDot's explanation regarding the rules for media reporting on open practice vs. what fans can say.

When I was looking at Volin's twitter at the time, I saw this response from Volin (Minihane had tweeted that "none of this happens without Mort's false story."):

"The Patriots brought none of this on themselves" sounds like those troglodytes who, after a woman is assaulted, say, "Well, she shouldn't have been dressed that way" or "She shouldn't have led him on."

In Volin's mind, it's the Patriots fault that the league accused them of something they didn't do and then leaked false information to the media to incriminate them.
