Unbelievable: Mort Blames KRAFT

Mort is in a world of hurt....

He can't retract the story because his bosses, his company and his company's#1 business partner tell him he can't. If he does he'll get sued and lose his job.

He can't out his source for using him b/c it'll alienate him from his other sources.

His career would be finished or he'd wind up with some crap sports radio job in Atlanta.

All he can do is demonstrate some cosmetic form of masculinity and tell the world that no one can pressure him what to do.

The problem is that it's already happened.

His life is under complete control.

If one is to believe his Twitter signature, he is bound by a higher authority.

Otherwise, it is just empty wording.

"I was just following orders....."

All he did was lie to ruin a mans reputation for the chance to prop up his own reputation. What's so bad about that?

Chris Mortensen should examine his conscience. Otherwise, his Twitter signature is as false and misleading as his "11 out 12" report in January.

Lolz knew Pats would get blamed somehow.

Well the only thing positive I see out of this was that he admitted how misreported this story has been!

He didn't say by which side.......

Has this POS ever been back on the air since he made that report? I don't think so, but i don't pay attention to bspn either.

He didn't say by which side.......
I would think that was obvious...Everytime the nfl report something the next day it gets proven false or misleading at least. When Bradys side releases something it don't get proven false or misleading.

Interesting about all the different things you can read into Mort's actual quotes. There is one I found VERY intriguing.

"Maybe when the lawsuit is settled, in Brady’s favor, I hope, we can revisit."

I found it telling that he stated" WHEN the lawsuit is settled in Brady's favor", not if. Is Mort telling us that he believes Brady will win the suit?

I also got to wondering why Mort set this up in the first place. Why was he going to set the record straight and break it on a Boston Radio station and not on his own? As we all have noted, Mort's report is clearly one of the centerpieces of the entire affair. What he says is going to be BIG news. So why not give that "scoop" to the network that he works with, instead of a local radio show in Brady's hometown????????!!!!!

I have to believe that Mort was going to spill the beans and end this entire fiasco before he was pressured into caving. However his comment about predicting Brady WILL win the suit, tells us a lot about what Mort REALLY thinks.

Wow, nothing gets by you! (next time, I'll put an emoji after my sarcastic-anti Mortensen remarks) :D

Lol, I should have known that happened to me yesterday ;) lol I'll just go with I'm a little slow this morning; )

If it wasn't for Mort there's never a 2nd "Wells" (Pash) Report.

Kensil used him and is now letting him rot with the false info.

And someone loses 5-6 million dollars. Check Morts bank account.

Doubt he's rotting though.

“You guys made a mistake by drumming up business for the show and how I would address my reporting for the first time,” Mortensen informed WEEI. “I will not allow WEEI, [Patriots owner Robert] Kraft or anybody to make me the centerpiece of a story that has been misreported far beyond anything I did in the first 48 hours. Maybe when the lawsuit is settled, in Brady’s favor, I hope, we can revisit. Don’t call.”

D&C make me throw up in my mouth and yet, I have to defend them. What TV, Radio or Media outlet wouldn't advertise that Mort would be on? They advertise his appearances even when there isn't anything special going on. Proud day for sports journalism.

Yeah, I'm curious as to what Mort's payday was from Kensil or whomever for starting this whole thing to begin with

Mort must know that in the event of a defamation suit, Kensil and the NFL are going to throw him under the bus, and blame him for the false report. Therefore, it doesn't surprise me that he's out there predicting a victory for Brady in the NFLPA suit. It's ironic that the guy who started the fire is now praying for someone else to put it out before he gets burned. Better hang on to that cell phone of yours, Mort.
