Just 15 minutes into my first D & C listen in years, it is a pleasure to hear a couple of Boston mediots defend the Patriots shield instead of dancing on their grave....Felger and the Rodent.
Are the 2Pm -6PM guys equally vocal in their Patriots defense?

Dennis is teasing he knows why Kraft backed down.
Well, it sure as hell wasn't to help reduce or eliminate Brady's suspension like Kraft said a couple days ago. ANYTHING would be more believable.

The 2 to 6 guys are the only ones I listen to regularly and IMHO they have each been very fair minded about this whole thing. They have expressed disappointment in the team where applicable, (such as how the Patriots are being outmaneuvered in the PR war) but they are on NE's side, even at the expense of being called homers.

Well I think what they are saying is Goodell is overreacting to the perception among some black players that he is racist, so he is coming down extra hard on "the golden boy."

But yes, your characterization of Kensil is accurate.
It's called reverse racisism.

I think he is playing the same game. " a little birdie told me" but I don't have to name my source so I'm just going to go after Kensil.
That's what journalists do. They report news using sources.

The integrity (there's that word again) is how credible is the source and how many sources where used to corroborate the information.

That's the difference between a journalist with good ethics and is solid and Jerry Springer.

I wouldn't call this breaking news...but it damn sure feel good to hear WEEI discussing it... if only ESPN would do the same and retract the Mortensen report

Hope Florio reports it.

Agreed, it's called being a trustworthy reporter. That said, remember that John Dennis' past includes a Mort-like mess up, the Kirby Puckett incident from 22 years ago.

I was 3-years old....what happened 22 years ago?

Now they have gone in the direction of a stupid racial angle, which undermines the rest of their argument IMO. Gotta have PROOF if you pull the race card

They cited Whitlock who had reported this angle.

In fairness to Mortensen, he received this info from the VP of Gameday Operations for the NFL. That's a pretty good source.

The problem is that Mort's source never helped him print a retraction.

The question is why. That is what I want to know.

Florio piece this morning:
I like and respect Mort. As Adam Schefter of WEEI said on ESPN on Thursday, Mortensen is a pioneer in this business. But his false report should be the centerpiece of the story. Because without that false report there is no story.
On Thursday, Schefter suggested that Mort was given false information by one or more high-level NFL officials.
This would be a perfect topic for an ESPN Outside the Lines investigation as to how the NFL manipulated the media on multiple occasions for P.R. purposes.

Mortensen could have retracted his report as soon as he knew it was wrong, even if it was only when the Wells report came out. He wouldn't have to name names, just say "Sorry, I was wrong to trust my source".

So Mort gets no free pass. He is UNETHICAL to keep standing by his report.
