D&C just started. Mort has backed out but they promise they will name names. So we will get some sort of reveal but I have no idea how reliable Dennis' sources are.

Mort got his call and like all good Goodell pawns was reminded not to reveal any information regarding his source..

Thank god do not have to listen to D & C and Minihane incessantly bloviate..

wonders who they gave up to fall on the NFL office sword.. probably a nobody

Listening to the show, I get the impression that Dennis got his info from the Pats. That's totally just a hunch based on a vague inference, but my impression is that it wasn't Mort who told him the source.

Meh. Whatever. It's obvious the NFL was behind the untrue leak. And they never responded to it and let that shape everyone's opinion for months.

Funny how Schefter tweets out that Brady's defense team would have only 4 hours to present their case and the NFL (Aiello) responded in about 6 minutes.

Mort email to WEEI: (doing my best from memory)

"I will not allow WEEI, Kraft or anybody to make me the centerpiece of a story far beyond anything I did over the first 48 hours...... You guys made a mistake by trying to drum up business for your show."

There was also a line about how he *may* address it in the future....

It can't be. That's not much of a source, unless Mortensen told the Patriots for some reason.

Which, considering the text he sent D&C "(Maybe after the hearing, and Brady is cleared (I hope) I'll talk about it)" I guess isn't TOO far fetched.

Also, I think Dennis slipped at one point, snuck in mid-sentence during a longish discussion.

Stephen A. Smith's source was, like I thought, Troy Vincent. Troy Vincent's slimy enough to do it, and they have the Philadelphia connection between them.

Has he gotten to the 3 reasons yet?

Weei blocked here.

Updates please

I was thinking they found out some other way, but I admit it's just a whisper of a hunch of a feeling I have that the Patriots are Dennis' source.

Finally, the Patriots community is handling this like any other corruption target. Start at the retail point with the street level peddler and pound on him until he flips or slips and gives up the next link in the chain. Continue working the chain until you string together an organization and a big enough fish to make it worth while.

It's kind of like The Wire. The League* is a corrupt, racketeering organization that deserves to be burned to the ground (figuratively speaking).

If it's the Patriots, sorry that's lame, even to me. Stacey James could say Lil Wayne was the leak, for all that it would matter. It's not independent, at least not to me.

Here's the link to the stream who asked for it: http://v6.player.abacast.net/2099

nothing revealed yet...

mort's email says he hopes brady wins (that tells you how he feels about this whole thing)

He seriously said that? What a hypocrite.

.....and that's how you need to fight the NFL.
