Mortensen to address initial #DeflateGate report on WEEI

I wonder if Espn knows Mort is going to do this interview? Would they even allow him to reveal his source to another entity?

I'm kind of conflicted here. I just wrote 5 hours ago "no way in hell." And now Dennis Callahan is tweeting Mort told him who the source is and there is NFL agenda involved. Saying 1 of 3 points will shock you.

Like the other poster mentioned. I will be royally po'd if this is bs.

If it were that easy, John Thomase and the Globe would've had to shell out millions in a slam dunk defamation suit. After all, people still bring up the idea of taping practices to this day. Unfortunately, the bar has been set rather low for journalism in regards to ethics and "fact checking."

This is true even more in the age of social media where stories are wrong every day and shared like it's no big deal.

Just pointing out, Thomase worked for the Herald back then. He's never worked for the Globe. He currently is at WEEI.

You're right.

That said, the continuous mistake with the Gardi letter and the 11 of 12 report and everything from the league office early on made this exact same mistake.

So maybe it's not specific enough to tie it directly to Kensil, but it certainly seems like too much of a coincidence to say that it didn't come from someone at the league office.

Amazing he has survived in this business. He sucks at his job and looks like he has two chipmunks stuck in each cheek. Really hated character. They need to just dismantle the Boston beat and start replacing them. Besides a select few most of the guys and gals are an embarrassment to journalism.

heh..and it's EITHER John Dennis (in this case it is) or Gerry Callahan...Dennis AND Callahan is the name of the show.

Why would he cancel?
1) Suits at ESPN found out and threatened him
2) Suits at league office ( likely the source) called ESPN and urged them to stop him or risk losing future NFL contracts
3) Cold feet that he might actually be asked a question and have to answer it (ain't no fun when the deer has the gun.)
4)He's a gutless coward who smeared an organization and a great player based on false reporting and won't man up and apologize,,,

Just was reading through all these posts and was going to post now that's it's out there I bet someone gets to him first and he don't go through with it. Damn didn't even get to the end of reading before it happened. Lol. I truly wish one reporter who has some info that shows what the nfl was up to would grow a pair of big balls and speak up, Hell they would have the story of the century (you would think after how much attention this stupid non story has got) ! I know never going to happen but I can dream
