If he says this is from the Ravens game the media is gonna take this and run with "PROOF". This sucks

I will be on the road tomorrow ... so I will tune in and listen to Baghdad Mort.

Via PFT,
“If that is indeed the case that one, two, three high-level individuals intentionally misled him to try to smear the Patriots, I saw more shame on those people than Mort,” Schefter said.

I agree with Schefter, that whoever supplied the false info is most at fault. Still, Mort needs to name names. His rep has been damaged and he needs to out those that damaged it. Otherwise, he remains a pawn

Journalist never out their sources even when they use them to spread false info. Every journalist fears that outing even a source that burned them will scare off legitimate sources.

Mort will finger Kensil, who will reveal that Pash actually wrote the Wells Report, leading to Goodell's resignation by the end of the day.

I have always suspected the 10.1 is from that game as that is within range of what it would have been at that much colder game.
I think the 10.1 was from a letter not from Mortenson's report. Not that he's above being an NFL mouthpiece, but it shouldn't really come up in a conversation about his report.

11/12 people don't give a f#ck about what Mort has to say.

No the point had been made that the #s he was given and reported may have been from Ravens game.

Mort won't reveal his source but he should 100% reveal if it was from a team, the NFL HQ etc... We deserve to know where the smear came from at least at this level.

Eh if youre expecting anything more than dancing around the error youll be disappointed. I have a feeling he'll actually try and give himself credit for the balls being underinflated somewhat but not to the level stated. Integrity has no say when it comes to people like this.

If he had anything slanderous to say he would be headlining ESPN. This will be a gentlemanly conversation where I wouldn't be surprised if 11 of 12 was never even brought up.

I have been hitting Mort on Twitter for 2+months now on this Jesus got 11 of 12 apostles right, Mort got 11 of 12 balls wrong, WWJD? etc.. If someone puts as the 1st thing in their twitter bio they are Christian, I damn well expect them to act like it and fix their wrongs as best they can and I have no problem calling them out on their hypocrisy.

This hits him where he lives

This. Being a Christian is a hard road, and far be it for me to Judge. But if you are going to lead with your status as a Christian, you have to lead the life the best you can. Mathew 5:24 is a pretty important teaching for leading that life:

Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.

Seems pretty clear, if you have wronged somebody, than when possible, make it right.

right...uh, Jimmy Swaggert ring a bell in your church?

Keep religion off these threads. It's heated enough with the secular football discussions.

In my dream, Mort outs Kensil and Pash as the sources

Agreed. Mortensen will say he's used these sources before, they were very reliable and he had no reason to doubt them. He didn't know what to make of Rapaport's report a week later with different information and was as surprised as anyone when the real numbers came out. He'll hem and haw over whether he was deliberately misled and will claim that, "Sometimes, these things happen. That's part of the business." His basic position will be that it wasn't really his fault as he didn't know the information was wrong and he has no idea if there was any malice behind supplying him with false information. In his eyes, it will be no ones fault. He didn't make the story go viral.

Oh, and as far as making a retraction or correction to his original story, he'll claim he struggled with that decision, but the opportunity never really presented itself.

The EEI guys may start out tough with him, but they'll end up sympathizing with him over being burned by a source and never really press him about his silence after it was revealed he was wrong or why he never questioned the motive of his sources for lying to him. Actually, Minihane will have some harsh words for him, but he'll save those for after the end of the call.

Actually, out of all of them, I expect Callahan, who is the closest thing to a journalist on that show, will have a couple of pointed things to say about sources.

But true. Nothing will come of it.

Also, let's not rule out the "accidental hangup" by Mortensen.
