Could this be the reason for TB12's new phone?

I'm curious about the timing of this report. It came out within one day of ol' Rog Badapple's saying that Brady had 'destroyed' his phone (which is cya nonsense). If he and his wife were discussing this via tweets and so forth, wouldn't it make sense that he wouldn't want this shared with the world? Course, we all know that his lowliness and the minions would never have secretly sent this information out after receiving Tom's phone. Heavens no!

I think it was Reiss that had a talk with one of Brady's closer friends and he suggested that the reason for changing the phone might have been Wells putting Bradys number with only the last four digits removed into the report.

Disclaimer: I don't think Brady got rid of his phone for nefarious reasons.

You can change your phone number without changing your phone.

Where are the before and after pics of Gisele and her sister?

I honestly believe Brady received tons of texts messages from friends & players & there were a lot of nasty Goodell messages that Brady did not reported or leaked.

Of course you can, what I was trying to say -- and failed -- was that the Wells episode might have been the catalyst for the phone change. Since he had to change the SIM anyway to get a new number he might have gotten an offer to upgrade to a new phone as well.

Yeah, I'm guessing they aren't like us thinking "can I really afford the $500 for a new phone". New number, new phone, no worried.

In the same vein as Vrabel Jr's thoughts, no one here is suggesting guilt, but I've changed my phone number multiple times from the comfort of my own living room.

I've never once touched my SIM card, so I don't think that reasoning makes much sense.

I would not be surprised if very early on, TB was told that one key thing to protect your privacy was to change change phones often and completely destroy the old phone. I remember a little bit ago some magazine did a test where they bought old phones off ebay and it was amazing how much stuff could still be recovered from "wiped" phones. If I was Giselle, the minute TB got a new phone I'd take a hammer and a sausage maker to the old one.

As much as we like to think TB is a man of the people, his life operates at a whole different plane of existence. It's what those yahoos out there don't get. They actually think Goober likes to eat papa johns pizza while I am sure he is spitting that crap out as soon as the cameras stop rolling,

Yes this is exactly it. I do data recovery as part of my business, and I can tell you that most of the time 'wiping your phone' will not delete all the data even if it appears to be gone. For someone like me or average joe this might not be a big deal since most of us probably don't have too much interesting stuff that anyone would care about (although I make it a habit to destroy my phones, hard drives, etc anyway). But for someone like Tom Brady that phone is full of data the world would pay to see. TMZ, and many other new organizations would pay big bucks for any personal photos or texts that came off one of his old phones.

Celebrities, especially an A-list like Brady have to live their lives much different than most of us.

He got an Apple Watch, you need an iPhone 6 or 6+ to connect them up to each other, neither of those are a Samsung which Brady himself said he had.

Completely wrecking electronic devices to the point it's literally impossible to recover anything from them is in general good practice, even more so if you're an A list celeb.

General point to anyone on here changing hard drives in a PC/Laptop: use a magnet to kill the old drive and make it unrecoverable from, there was a segment on a show on the BBC that showed forensics labs were able to recover data from them if they'd been hit with a hammer, had a nail driven through them etc but a magnet totally ruined them beyond any recoverable state.

He got the Apple watch in late April not early March. Remember the story that he was at the Apple store in NYC while the team was meeting Obama?

I agree.

BTW, after the incident, does anyone think that Brady would delete messages, get rid of his phone, or destroy his phone without consulting his attorney first?

Yeah, unfortunately that story doesn't add up, as Vector Prime says.

The Apple Watch didn't even come out until the end of April. I believe that it was the 24th, and the Obama meeting was the 23rd. Either way, it had nothing to do with anything that happened on March 6th, which was at least 6-7 weeks earlier.

That's a good question to ponder. I think it all depends on when the NFLPA and Kessler became involved, otherwise Don Yee may have been the one advising Brady at that point.

I don't destroy my phones but when I am done with a hard drive, and have all my relevant info copied over, I annihilate the thing.

Oh, hard drive = it's over! The amount of porn alone would be enough to send both my wife and mother into a frenzy. Nothing saved (weirdos), but the stuff I've viewed...forget about it!

Add in 8+ years of criminal justice and forensics schooling with the craziest search queries you could ever imagine, and the whole town would think I was Jeffrey Dahmer.

why couldn't he have gotten the iphone 6 in March and then got the apple watch later? it's not like they have to be bought together and you sure as hell don't get a discount.

It's certainly possible that he got the phone 6-7 weeks before the watch, but that's not exactly what the poster whom I responded to seem to suggest. At this point it's probably pointless to speculate why he got a new phone. It could have been any number of reasons.
