Paragraph 111 of the 54-page lawsuit filed Wednesday by the NFLPA elaborates on a point briefly addressed in the ruling from Commissioner Roger Goodell upholding the Brady discipline. In 2009, the NFL suspended a member of the Jets’ equipment for attempting “to use unapproved equipment to prep the K[icking] Balls” before a game against the Patriots.

As the NFLPA points out, the NFL did not investigate or discipline the Jets kicker for “general awareness” or specific involvement, even though the Jets kicker (like Brady in this case) was the player most likely to benefit from the behavior and, in turn, the player most likely to be aware of the conduct.

The NFLPA explains in its lawsuit that the decision not to investigate or discipline the Jets kicker “was perfectly consistent with the Competitive Integrity Policy’s application to Clubs, not players.”

So why suspend Brady under a policy that applies to teams and not players? At paragraph 108 of the lawsuit, the NFLPA claims that “a fine would not have quenched other NFL owners’ thirst for a more draconian penalty.”

this is a big item in the case

Wow....just wow.

Gawd I hope Brady wins....on a multitude of levels.

My Hatred for the JESTS had gone down a bit after the FAT MAN departed, but now i hate them more than ever, I wish the most evil of things upon that fan-base and the franchise

Everything the Patriots are accused of doing, the Jets have been caught doing (sideline taping, tampering with footballs) with little to no punishment. Sounds fair to me.

Knowing the NYJ's history (and I hope for humanity reasons this does not happen) it'll crash.

So let me get this straight. The Jets get caught red handed and the ball boy gets suspended, no investigation, and no penalties beyond that suspension. No hard evidence against the Pats and the league spends $5 million to investigate, Brady gets a four game suspension, and the Pats lose a 1st, 4th, and $1 million. Seems fair.

But apparently Brady has zero shot in court and should drop it and take his punishment.

BTW, kicking balls are not supposed to be prepped at all. They come out of the box on game day. So any prepping of a kicking ball is just as illegal as deflating footballs after they have been inspected.

and the

JETS

STILL

SUCK

even with all the advantages the league gives them.

This is maddening...

Historically, the punishment for manipulating equipment is either a verbal/written warning or a suspension of team staff (Jets, Vikings, Panthers, Chargers).

NFL's assertion is that the Pats had a scheme in place which justifies the harshness of the penalty. A scheme in which there is no hard evidence to support.

I don't care what the actual case the NFLPA is making, but if this judge rules against TB12 and the NFLPA it'll be a complete travesty.

Goodell's love for the Jets couldn't be more obvious. Why hasn't somebody done something about this yet? Aren't the Bills and Fins fed up with it too?

This is kind of ridiculous to say, but does anyone feel like they actually liked the Jets more when Rex was there??? At least they were goofy. Now they are just complete ****s.

Just another case of the Jets cheating. Like the tampering, and so many other things. It just makes me sad that the cheating Jets have to cheat the way cheaters do. Just cheat cheat cheat all day long. And losing, of course. They always lose. But the cheating. Oh, the cheating.

But the Jets don't have a history of...going to the post season.

The Patriots do and it's not because of a better QB, Coach, Owner, program. It must be because they CHEAT to succeed.

If the Jets were bullying them every year those teams would be. But the Jets still suck. They're fed up with NE not because of the non-case against them, but because they routinely sweep 1 or 2 of the divisional teams and split with another EVERY year. Sometimes going straight 6-0. And the last time they lost the division, and BARELY lost it, the first time since the mid 80's that a team won 11 games and missed the playoffs, they had their starting QB play 7 minutes of the season.

The Jet's haven't had a starting QB for 7 minutes of ANY season in a decade.

Integrity of the game, duh!

There was also zero coverage of this incident and suspension. I like to think I have rabbit ears for this kind of stuff and I don't recall ever hearing anything about this before, either in the media or here.

This happened in 2009, the Alosi Wall tripping incident happened in 2010. That's a pattern of behavior by Jets personnel that the league clearly ignored/covered up.

I honestly feel the NFL knows how hopeless the Jets are. They must know that they will never win, never place anywhere in the AFC and never become a "good team"

they are the practical joke, the doormat, the but end of all jokes in the NFL and they get special treatment

the funniest thing though is :

THEY

STILL

SUCK
