Let's see if he's the first one to bring up on espn airwaves ABOUT THEIR INCORRECT REPORT about the 11/12 footballs courtesy of Chris Mortensen.

Nobody on espn has ever mentioned it.

He thinks Brady will still serve his 4 game suspension. Just his opinion, but has there ever been a Superbowl winning team that had a worse off season than this. So frustrating.

While acknowledging Goodell's mis-handling of the matter, he predicts Brady sits the full suspension. Some prominent sports lawyers agree, and I have not seen an informed legal mind suggest this case is anything like the slam dunk case that some have inferred after reading the NFLPA petition. Fans hoping for a full vindication with recovery of the draft picks may well be facing a reality where the NFL's miscarriage of justice stands.

Who cares about the opinions of people not specifically involved in this matter? Even an "informed legal mind" means next to nothing. I've watched enough Court TV to see that most people just like being on TV/radio to bleat their opinions. The opinions themselves mean nothing.

Isn't that always the case here..after something comes out, most all go into euphoria. I don't mins the positive attitudes, but I do find it amusing.

I agree with Wetzel's article. The public relations war is over and the NFL is the clear victor. Whether Brady's suspension gets wiped by a court based on lack of notice or some other due process defect is really beside the point. It won't affect the public's perception of the merits or Brady's involvement.

He's right but he's wrong.

If Brady clobbers the NFL in court, then immediately after his victory, he'll still be in pretty much the same PR hole he is in now. However, that victory will clear the decks for him to try a PR comeback, in connection with a neutral arbitration, a defamation case, and/or a settlement in which the NFL agrees to eat some crow.

As to which of those three alternatives is most likely -- that depends upon which is least bad for Roger Goodell. I'm guessing that he'll work hard to keep a defamation case off the table, because that's the one scenario of the three in which he might wind up under oath.

Who f*cking cares about public perception Patriots and any Patriots player lost public perception on September 13, 2007

He called them out TWICE on their own air waves. GREAT JOB DAN!!!

I'll post the link later. He did great bringing more attention to the INCORRECT REPORT BY ESPN.
Just out of curiosity, what was mike and Mikes reply to this?

How would the NFL win? Sounds like Doty will get the case and he should accept it.

Apparently not Don Yee.

Why would the NFL ever eat crow? They hold all the cards. The spoliation issue (among others) likely precludes a defamation suit, certainly from getting to trial. I suppose a neutral arbitration could rehabilitate his image somewhat, but he will forever be known as someone who was likely involved in a cheating scandal and covered it up. No doubt that 20 years from now no one will care just like no cares now about Jerry Rice using stickum, but like Belichick with Spygate, he will never shed it completely. Sad and unfair, but that's the way I see it. And I think the whole thing could have been avoided if he and his advisors had understood the gravity of the situation at the beginning. Compare how he and Belichick handled their January pressers.

The public are a bunch of drooling dumbasses. Nothing will affect their perception of Brady's involvement or lack thereof. So who the **** cares about them? Once again, this is about what will be said prior to Brady's entrance to Canton and the NFLPA trying to make good on allowing themselves to get walked on by the league during the last CBA.

Good post ... Brady's most likely success in the future could come via defamation lawsuits against all of them.

Can someone explain to me why so many think brady will fail and will have to serve his suspension?

Considering the NFLPA has gotten guys like Peterson and rice off after hard evidence of actual wrongdoing it would seem like bradys should be a piece of cake

Or are the mediots ignoring goodell has lost at EVERY court case brought against him? Including bountygate
