NFL edited Wells Report prior to public release

5?

I think it's something like 40 over the last few years.

Ted Wells doesn't walk, he oozes, that dude's so slimy. He'd flip on Goodell in a second if he could get around privilege issues.

Yea I think it was $5 million for this report. But let's think, the NFL edited the report. Wells maybe wrote a lot more that was deleted. Could explain why he was furious and had the PC over the phone. Just think for a sec.........

Any chance wells turns on goodell? I mean he's got his 5 big ones. Unless he somehow has a written agreement or in his contract, wells could come out clean also by disowning this mess
Never happen. Research Wells and you will understand why Wells hates Brady so much.

how can we confirm this?

He can't turn on Goodell. I don't mean can't in the sense of "he doesn't want to so it won't happen in practice", I mean he literally can't in the sense of "he would be derelict in his duty if he revealed privileged client information that hurts the NFL's case in court so it would be illegal for him to do so". One of the revelations of the NFLPA petition was that Wells and other Paul, Weis partners and associates were acting in their role as the NFL's legal counsel during the course of the investigation, and the NFL and Paul, Weis are claiming attorney-client privilege on details of the Wells investigation.

Ok let's say Brady and the NFLPA wins. How does this affect Goodell? If you ask me Goodell did a great job in screwing the Patriots and got millions of fans to believe their lies. Goodell and his propaganda machine is working very well. Can someone explain why the 32 would can Goodell? I think they keep the tyrant. He's making them more money with his propaganda machine which clearly works.

Honestly, it likely won't. It SHOULD, but it likely won't.

Sadly it does not hurt Goodell other than publicly. The owners are all that matters but his day will come but unfortunately even if it comes tomorrow this ass is worth tens of millions from the NFL.

Makes some sense in regards to how easily upset Wells was in the early days, taking poorly-done short notice conference calls. Probably was very frustrated attempting to defend a report you wrote that someone else heavily edited. Not saying that he is in any way a victim, just saying I can see where his frustrations would've come from.

I am afraid I can't speak to this but research his time in college.

And here I was going to say it's because his family are Jets fans.

Just keep ratcheting that entertainment value right on up, NYFL!

Every part of this is soooooo goddamn shady. I might just be watching every game this season from a stream because I sure as hell don't want to give this current NFL regime any money.

I remember reading--it was PFT, I think--that it served Wells' interests to conduct the investigation purely as an investigator, and not as a lawyer. The reason being that as long as he was not acting in a lawyer's capacity, he couldn't face sanctions for misconduct. But IIRC, by invoking attorney-client privilege, he is necessarily acting as an attorney, which means that if misconduct on his part is exposed in court, he could be sanctioned for it.

I'm no expert, but I definitely remember reading this a couple months ago, maybe an expert around here can weigh in?

I'm an "expert"..I just edited Brady FTW! into Brady FTWoowoowoowoowoowoowoowoowoowoo!

As soon as that mofo edited that 5 million dollar report he turned it into 50 cent

What is the proof of the edit ? Is there any other info in the PA filing ?

well, pash has said in the past that the patriots have been cheating for years, so I doubt it was a kind edit
