Opening Night. Our canvas to make a statement

I'd prefer the team stand up for Brady and refuse to play!

I was wondering if we could come up with a fan participation statement to embarrass Goodell while making a powerful classy statement to everyone watching

Yeah, no Brady, no banner. If Brady is there, everyone, including players turns their back on the commissioner. I can't believe he'd be brave enough to show since he's already scared about what fans will do to his property in Maine.

A soccer one that I love.

12th minute of game. Constant applause from 12:00 to 12:59 on the clock.

Applaud Tom Brady.

Too subtle perhaps.

This.

Although this soccer one has some promise (just picture Goodell as the guy in the orange jacket)

Goodell won't go to the opening game for the Pats. He is not welcomed by the fans and most likely not welcomed by Kraft and the team.

A Goodell dummy hanging in effigy from the lighthouse would be a nice touch

#NoBradyWeRiot
68,000 storm the field at once.

Where FRG patches on their shirts.

I doubt Goodell will show his face in NE. I think he does his kickoff from a podium in SF. Coward. I keep coming back to what the Commish suggested. All file in a quarter late. All in unison chanting "No Brady, No Banner" that would get the most coverage. Keep up the chants throughout the game

I told some friends this earlier today.. I can't see goodell setting foot in our stadium this season, let alone opening night.

I would love to see it though... Gillette camera guy zooms in or that f-ing stupid dumb face for an extended time and that PoS gets the loudest, longest most hate filled ring of boos he's ever heard. Hell I would love to see a real life walk of shame, Game of Thrones-style.

Honestly though if Brady is playing, non-stop brady chants would be a given. Maybe a -sue the league- chant as well.

If Brady is indeed still suspended, that's a tough one. Boycott the 1st half is a popular one. An empty stadium is a big statement but I don't like it because I think the team on the field deserves support. I'm not sure a chant is enough, I think something more drastic or effective is needed.

While I might wish violence and physical harm, or at the very least, eye herpes on that puke Goodell. Violence is certainly not an option as the OP suggested .

Finally, I absolutely agree that the fans need to make a statement at this game against the nfl*, goodell* and potentially Kraft (depending on how things play out before then). I'm sure we'll figure something out.

You are right in so many ways. I do believe we will come up with something and hopefully all the STH will join in

No, he's going to be in San Francisco, where the music thing is going to be. Guaranteed. He doesn't have the sack to go to Foxboro.
I agree. I've been wondering if he has (in the past) always attended the opening night. Would be very curious to see if him missing an opening night game was unprecedented.

*shudder*

I'm not so sure I agree with you there..... :D

I know this would be unpopular here on this board but I would love it if 1 minute into the game.....the opening kickoff game of the season....Bellichick grabs a microphone and announces....."WE FORFIT" and the entire team leaves the field.

Have Jimmy G take a knee on every single snap. Make it the most embarrassing game display in the history of the NFL as ratings plummet by the end of quarter 1.

Massive banners with things like "NO EVIDENCE", "NFL WITCH HUNT", "GOODELL HAS NO INTEGRITY" held up all over the stadium - so many the cameras can't miss them.
I'll be there. I'm thinking of spray painting a large white sheet with the letters FU RG and hanging it from my section, but that likely would be taken down pretty quick. Unfortunately, "controversial" banners aren't tolerated in Gillette.
