Tom Curran: Don Yee said that Wells told the Brady camp they did not want his phone

He might be too busy trying to explain how he allowed the NFL to play him by beating him to the punch and filing a motion in an NYC court to have the ruling upheld a second after Goodell's ruling was released. That's the kind of stuff that $1,000 an hour lawyers are supposed to anticipate and it's reasonably probable that he did not. The consequences aren't clear yet, but if it turns out that the NFL has secured the right to have the case heard in a court in New York city, the fight will be over before it's begun.

You have to be informed of an appeal before you can sue.

There was never going to be a time that Kessler beat the NFL to the punch on timing.

At this level of legal play, time is of the essence which necessitates timeframes that are measured in minutes, not hours and certainly not in day(s) as has, seemingly, been commonplace with these guys.

Let me just say that I think Brady needs a much better PR team in place then he has currently.

He will never win a PR battle. He needs to focus on the legal matters.

Oh I have. But I figured there could be zero way they could a spin Krafts statement. Pretty cut and dry. Yet they managed to. Quite a feat actually.
Dude they've spun every single Patriots related PC or comment on the matter ever since the story broke.

The only one they did not spin was the Kraft capitulation presser in which they chided fans for being disrespectful about it.

Thanks for the heads up on F&M - not that I didn't know they'd dismiss anything Brady/Kraft said via press conferences or written statements. They did the same with wellsreportincontext - rubbish, amateurish, embarrassing. They did the same with Yee's interview post initial ruling - rubbish, amateurish, embarrassing.
They are so very easy to predict. It's the same thing during the season - if they win, the other team sucks, but if they lose - pile on! I specifically remember after the Pats blew out Buffalo at Buffalo. Felger was crying about "why doesn't anyone cover Gronkowski!" that was his lament for almost the entire show - almost wishing teams would shut down the pats defensively. He gave ZERO credit to Brady, his receivers, or coaches for putting up 361 passing yards and 4 touchdowns with no picks on the road against, if you listen to the media leading up to the game, one of the best defenses in the league.
Their act is growing so old and tired....but unfortunately, it is car wreck, "gawkablockah" radio - it's so bad it is hard not to listen!

Yeah, but it totally shoots down any theory they had. Figured they would fess up and say well guess not. We need to get rid of the guys. Felger says he doesn't believe Brady. Yet he won't call him a liar. Is that not the same thing?

I know who they are. I just figured this was one chance for them to have some showing of decency. That's it.

Felger and Mazz have talked out of their asses since day one.

1. The Well's report implies that the footballs were deflated by 0.3 - 0.4 psi. Felger and Mazz Know this.

2. The Wells report is scientifically flawed. Felger and Mazz know this.

3. AEI etc....prove that it is more likely than not that no deflation happened. Felger and Mazz know this.

Brady's phone is broken. GUILTY

Jason La Confora tweeted something similar. Said a story would be up later.

Spent a bit of time chatting with Don Yee, Brady's agent. Very interesting details surrounding the cellphone mattter. Full story upcoming

He works for CBS, not the NFL Network anymore.
Right, I stand corrected. Thanks.

Come to think of it, LaCanfora hasn't said much at all about this, really.

Here it is:

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer...ed-focus-to-phone-because-its-science-is-junk

"We were willing to reveal identities of everyone in Tom's phone. Everybody. We took the extra step to provide the Commissioner with all of Tom's personal cell phone billing records -- the billing records show all outgoing and incoming phone calls and texts. We took the further step to advise the Commissioner we were willing to disclose the identity of every single person in the billing record Tom communicated with. We took the additional step of speaking to general counsel at AT&T to determine if the company could somehow retrieve all those text message and he wrote letter back saying that's not possible, and we gave that letter to the commissioner as well. The commissioner tried to imply Tom was hiding something; does this seem like the behavior of someone trying to hide something?"

LaCanfora shares Yee's info : it is nothing out of the ordinary. He tells clients to dump phones.

My favorite line from Yee, "Wells Report already exonerated the coaching staff and the Patriots' organization, so who else could Tom have communicated with to help concoct and execute a scheme to deflate footballs? Could it have been (actor) Mark Wahlberg?"

So when Brady found out that they were harping on his "lack of cooperation" as a reason for the initial punishment he did everything within his power to get the NFL what it wanted, including text messages. The only way to do that was to reach out to a couple dozen people but the NFL refused to do so. Sounds fair.

I'd like to see the saved email where Wells writes "we don't need your phone."

I think there's a little more to it than that.

He explains how Brady showed his billing records including calls and text messages, and cross-referenced them with every person involved in the investigation, and that the league had every possible text and phone call with everyone involved already from the NFL-owned phones, and there was never a single communication between Brady and McNally, ever.

Meaning, of course, that he cooperated with Wells according to the ground rules at the time, and the fact that they already knew that he wasn't just going to turn over his cell phone.

From La Canfora's article:

"It is virtually unheard of for party in the position of the NFL in a dispute like this to file a preemptive lawsuit simultaneously with the issuance of the decision," Yee said. "That demonstrates tremendous weakness. The inference is that they do not believe that their evidence and reason could withstand scrutiny in any jurisdiction in America."
