Brady Facebook Post

I'm usually sympathetic when somebody starts a duplicate thread, and I've made that mistake myself mutiple times. But c'mon -- wasn't it OBVIOUS that there would already have been a thread on this?

If you apply that type of logic then nobody would post anything.

I think I just figured out what Brady is going to do after his NFL playing career: NFL Commissioner.

Brady's just gonna take the NFL to court, embarrass Goodell, get him fired and then the seat will be open for him to take after this season when he wins his fifth Super Bowl championship!

This is a brilliant post. He makes it clear multiple times he did not do anything, he does not hesitate or beat around the bash he is decisive in his statement of innocence. I am thrilled he did this.

I have watched Tom Brady on and off the field for a decade and a half, he has never proven to be anything more than a stand up man. Goodell has proven to be the opposite a lying, manipulative, prick. Brady wins hands down in any truth contest.

You beat me to it. Well said.

The only missing piece for me was the unequivocal statement of innocence from Brady himself. I knew it would be coming - wasn't sure when.

Here it is, and I have no doubt that he's telling the truth.

Part of me hates that he used FB as way of explaining his position. I understand it. It's light. Hes comfortable with it. It's personal and very human and not massaged by PR experts...IE...its in his own words....I get it and it's the right approach.

However, part of me wants Brady to channel 1980 Ronald Reagan in a press conference and put the NFL on notice in a very public way.

He should do it on Kelly and Michael (Strahan). Strahan loves him, but has the facts all wrong (and wants to be proven wrong, by the way).

Of course, he shouldn't do anything not 100% vetted by his lawyers. This sh** be real.

so where is the samsung? Tom said he replaced it, but I would have liked more clarification. Did he throw it in the trash, recycle, take a hammer to it? I realize he can do what he wants with it, but explaining in more detail would maybe turned more to his side. Goodell said destroyed, countering with replacing is a little soft IMO.

"There is no 'smoking gun' and this controversy is manufactured to distract from the fact they have zero evidence of wrongdoing."

This is the key statement

Doesn't matter to the haters.

Wait...seriously?

How Tom Brady disposed of his broken cell phone really matters to you all that much?

Why? It's broken. And it happened after the NFL knew they weren't going to get it. He could have it duct-taped to his throwing arm during games for all it matters.

Brady's post already up over 125k+ "likes" and it's not even 9 AM yet.
125 k likes compared to what? Millions upon millions who heard or watched this unfold since yesterday. The NFL PR team Has been out in front in the war of public perception

I'm sure people here will be lamenting "but no one will believe it!" but at this point I don't give a flying ****.

Yesterday when this news was *confirmed* and came pouring out, I myself was beginning to question just how innocent Tom might be if the "destruction" story was true. I needed to hear from Tom himself. Not Don Yee, not the NFLPA but Tom.

I'm very relieved to finally hear him forcefully reject all these accusations. It may not be enough to sway anyone else outside the fan base but it has kept me 100% behind him. And that is a good thought.

Why does it matter? The NFL does not have subpoena power.
Goodell made the appeal about Brady destroying something they had no right to look at.
I think this actually helps the legal case.

I think we've learned that he doesn't have the PR skills for the job ...

I'd go to St. Augustine and launch it out of a cannon at a Spanish fort, personally. Not that it would do any damage. I'd bring my old Nokia for that if I wasn't worried about needlessly ending hundreds of lives around the surrounding area.

If Brady was never going to give up phone, he's right: Phone's fate irrelevant. So he should also be bummed at who told NFL he destroyed it.

oh look an nfl paid, miami dolphins fanboy, stooge weighs in. Again these idiots saying Yee told goodell he "destroyed", how the hell do they know Yee used the world "destroyed"?

Hilarious. People go on and on about Brady should just come clean and it would help his image. Yet the second they find out that he was forthcoming about changing phones and getting rid of the other phone the same people get out their pitchforks and torches.

Sadly the narrative wont change how much ever genuine he is. Just need to look at the comments here.

The narrative among fans is never going to change so who gives a **** about that? This is about what's going to be said about Brady when he's inducted into the Hall of Fame as much as it's about the NFLPA trying to make right on allowing themselves and the players to get railroaded in the CBA.
