Lester Munson: Brady has no shot in court

Lester Munson has no shot at practicing the law in court ...because he's disbarred

From a Ben Volin article in May:

Munson said Wells was “very careful and very conservative” with his conclusions in his report, and the NFL has a compelling argument against the “unfair punishment” claim from Brady.

I gotta agree with him there. It is been months since the Wells Report came out and there has yet to be one person to question or disprove a single point in that report.

Heard on CBS sports radio talking with a legal guy from 60 Minutes Sports. A lawyer who is a friend of Wells, says that Brady has a shot in court, not an overwhelming shot, but a shot worth taking to protect your legacy.

I think Darren Rovell is the only ESPN employee worse than Munson.

Are you for real?? What else do you expect ESPN to say ? And who the f*k is Lester Munson anyway? While you are at it why don't you go to the forums of the 31 other teams and let us know what they are thinking about all this?

I knew that this report would be biased the moment I saw the ESPN notation in the preview. It is interesting to find out that he was disbarred. I wonder if there is a way to find out WHAT he was disbarred for and to start a campaign to make it public knowledge what he did and that he is an obvious pawn in the slander campaign.

Translation: Brady has a very good shot.

If the nfl thought Brady had no shot they wouldn't have been in court filing to venue shop as they were announcing that the suspension was upheld.

I just find it eternally hilarious that "The Worldwide Leader" would employ Munson as their top legal analyst.
I find it perfectly appropriate....Water seeks its own level....

One Q&A is central to his stupidity, because:
  • His claim almost entirely depends on it.
  • It's almost entirely wrong.

Q: What will Brady's lawyers argue in their attempt to reverse Goodell's ruling?

A: Led by the estimable Jeffrey Kessler, the Brady legal team will argue that Brady did nothing wrong, that the Wells report failed to establish that Brady had a role in the inflation of the game balls, that the penalty is too harsh, and that Goodell was not a neutral arbitrator. None of these arguments offers a compelling reason for a judge to reverse Goodell's decision. All of the arguments were raised in detail in the arbitration hearing, and Goodell answered each one of them in exquisite and persuasive detail in his 20-page opinion. It is difficult to imagine a judge reconsidering any of them. The players gave away the idea of a neutral arbitrator when they voluntarily agreed in collective bargaining that the commissioner would make the final decision in conduct detrimental cases.

Regardless of which side you're on, McCann's responses are reasoned and detailed. Munson's are simplistic and shallow. Even if I try to be unbiased, Munson strikes me as someone who only took a cursory review of the case. He said the Well's report's conclusions were conservative and well founded, totally unaware of questions about it's science.

ESPN is a pretty big outfit. You'd think they could afford a lawyer who hasn't been disbarred for the past 25 years.

OK, why the hell is @thenepatsrule disliking every one of my posts in this thread???

I gave you a like for each one that was disliked, since they weren't undone. It's the best I could do. Sorry you were the subject of abuse.

Release the PMs?..you must be unhappily married...
