If Volin does not get a national job, he is done around here I tell you. He better try and get a job at NFL.com or ESPN. Only Felger may read his piece.

Ever notice Tomase's face? He has the sides of his mouth kinda turn upward. Its a very unusual facial feature that I've only seen once before....

Just what I thought. ...Today Show once again just gave out the evidence that makes Brady look guilty...all they mentioned about Bradys Facebook post was he said he was deeply disappointed, no mention of anything else. I'm seriously sick to my stomach with how the media twists everything!

I take it the next time he gets the Super Bowl MVP is gonna be a tad bit awkward.

This is the response that Brady needed to make. David Deihl and Bob Papa were reading this on air and were pretty strongly supporting Brady. Deihl was making the point that Brady, as a private citizen, does not have to give his phone over to the NFL nor would he want to since he has a supermodel wife that probably sends him pictures via text.

Two caveats on your prediction:

1. I don't think he'll file a defamation case right away. His priority is the labor law case, which will be judged on procedural rather than substantive grounds.

2. If the labor law case is settled rather than litigated to a conclusion, the possibility of a defamation case might go away as part of the settlement.

As McCann points out, the defamation case can't stop the suspension, Brady doesn't need the money from any damages he could get, and winning as a public figure is hard anyway. So his motivations for filing that case are likely limited to:
  • Destroy Goodell.
  • Clear his name in the court of public opinion.

Playing football is a higher priority for him than either of those.

A defamation suit is a whole different thing. I know that. I just think that the League has done so much damage to his reputation, he may go after after this.

Way to be Tommy, Tommy...I love you man!

Part of me hates that he used FB as way of explaining his position. I understand it. It's light. Hes comfortable with it. It's personal and very human and not massaged by PR experts...IE...its in his own words....I get it and it's the right approach.

However, part of me wants Brady to channel 1980 Ronald Reagan in a press conference and put the NFL on notice in a very public way.

This is what I've been waiting for, to hear TB's side of this. This shows that Brady did what ever he could to assist in Wells investigation and now Goodell* & Goons* resort to adding new evidence and pressure of Public Opinion swayin towards TB. Go Get'm Tom!

I'm usually sympathetic when somebody starts a duplicate thread, and I've made that mistake myself mutiple times. But c'mon -- wasn't it OBVIOUS that there would already have been a thread on this?

Fencer didn't see thanx. Ian please close this.

the more Brady & co speak, the more the media will switch back in his favour...
Exactly so. The league's high water mark is always the day of their announcements (which someone said is always Tuesday. True?), and then facts emerge that change the narrative.

This was exactly what I hoped to wake up to this morning. This or Goodell's head in a vise.

How would that hurt him? :p

Brady's post already up over 125k+ "likes" and it's not even 9 AM yet.

DEFEND THE WALL

Respect to that Steelers fan on Brady's Facebook. Nice to know there are still intelligent fans of other teams who see this for what it is.

Finally ! Great strong statement from Tom. The gloves are off and I can't wait to see what happens.

Florio and Reiss have posted Brady's FB statement.

Haters heads exploding at PFT.
