You were never on his side. If you were, present the relevant posts which show that you were.

Oh, and enjoy watching your Rams moving to LA.
ive said it was a witch hunt a bunch until today.

Nice shot about the Rams. You must really want every fan against you.

Based solely on your posting history on our forum, your claim is unsubstantiated.

So, given that you picked THIS subject (other than one about Spikes' ring) to make your voice heard about the New England Patriots on our forum, I call complete and utter BS on you and your claim.

.

I just read most of your posts (ignoring the political stuff). Nowhere did I see any mention of this being a witch hunt.

What Glazer obviously doesn't realize is that what was taped isn't actually illegal, it's where they were taped from - but that's not unusual, the NFL made sure no one actually knew that.

Or the fact that the new rule was passed in the offseason, which was aimed at pretty much everyone doing it.

Of course, no one cares that they "cheated" for 5-10-15 minutes of week #1 vs. their biggest rival. The public belief is that they cheated for years, taped other teams' practices, etc.

If more people actually knew that the whole cheating scandal was about 20 minutes of the first half.....oh, wait. Nevermind.

Perhaps his computer was hacked by the Cardinals?

But why destroy it at all!

I want to learn more (i.e., everything!) about this alleged "destruction" before I get all excised about it.

To Tom: He had the phone upgraded. Got rid of the old phone for personal/security reasons.

To the NFL: He had it destroyed!!! He didn't ask us if he could! If we can't get our hands on it now, that must be the only answer! This is one more black mark against the most evil man since Auric Goldfinger!

To the average fan: <Gasp!> Destroyed? Why would he do that? I...I...I used to believe in him, but if the league says he destroyed it (after all, he reportedly told them that in the appeal hearing), it must be true! <Gasp!>

There's a funny thing about truth. It's a force of the universe, and eventually, one way or another, makes itself known because it must. That is it's nature.

And sooner or later, we're all gonna find out just what that is.

No, just the Rams fans. Because HAHA **** the Rams.

Long gone and hard to find..........(maybe in LA?)

To repeat:

The Patriots complied with every request of the NFL in the Spygate case. The results were that:

  1. A tape was leaked, and that tape is still out there and shown today, according to its possessor
  2. The Patriots are still called cheaters to this day, despite the obviously harmless nature of the filming
  3. People began claiming that the tapes were destroyed to protect the Patriots from being found doing even worse things

Some aspects of PR were lost a long, long time ago, and they're never going to turn into a win. That's irrelevant. People here need to pull up their big boy pants and move on. This case is now in front of the Federal Courts. If the Federal Courts hear the case, Goodell's likely to eviscerated, once again. If that happens, the PR war will be: Victory - Brady
this has nothing to do with pulling on the big boy pants. This is an unforced error by Brady. Yes, some (many) will chose to ignore the facts of filmgate, but I can mount a rational explanation for what that was. I can explain a lot of what happened here, but it is simply hard to rationalize the destruction of the phone.

I think this is exactly what the NFL wants all of us to question, though. None of it makes any sense.

1) It doesn't make sense that Wells seriously asked Brady and Yee to carefully sift through the messages and give him the relevant information

2) yet they still chose not to throw out a couple of softballs in a good faith attempt

3) It doesn't make sense that the NFL has stated that they never really wanted the phone, but are now

4) claiming that the phone they didn't want was "destroyed" just the same

5) It doesn't make sense that Brady would choose to get a new phone on the day that Wells was going to interview him (although we'll give him the benefit of the doubt, of course)

6) nor does it make sense that he'd physically try and destroy the phone as Goodell has suggested

7) It doesn't make sense that anyone out there would really believe any of this, since text messages can usually be retrieved within a certain period of time..but not this time

8) It doesn't make sense that the league was able to carefully keep this news behind closed doors for so long, and then all of a sudden Stephen A. Smith cracked the secret code today

9) nor does it make sense that Brady, Yee, Kessler and company didn't try to get out ahead of it somehow by making it crystal clear multiple times that "they gave Goodell all of the relevant phone information" during the window that occurred between the appeals process and this afternoon

Some of these are obviously in jest, but you've got to admit that the whole damn thing has been whacky as hell.

Doyel: Tom Brady is worse than a liar. Worse than a cheat. http://indy.st/1IqYmhT

(p.s. - - no way in hell I'm clicking the link to the column)

This guy is terrible. Zero redeeming qualities. When the story broke a couple months ago that Pete Rose bet on games as a player, his reaction was (he's a big Rose fan) "How does this change anything? We knew Pete was a lying gambler before." He's maintained that Brady's guilty all along. The appeal gets denied today and now Brady is "super guilty?"

Yes, it does. It's all about that, really.

Nonsense. It's as easy as pie. Anyone with a brain should at least think long and hard about destroying their old phones and sim cards. Hell, I've probably made fewer than 100 phone and calls, and about 10 texts, in the 2 years I've had my latest personal phone, yet it'll get destroyed when I'm done with it, and I don't have anything approaching the issues that a guy like Brady would have with his phone.

It would be nice to wake up tomorrow morning and find out that a clarification of the word "destroyed" has been made, particularly from Brady's camp.

If we're talking about wiping an electronic device clear when you're done with it, then there's no doubt that one should keep their private info out of the wrong hands. Unfortunately, the suggestion from the NFL has served its intended purpose by making everyone imagine Wile E. Coyote and a blasting device.

"all balls at 10 psi!!!!"

"uh, what was that?"

"Brady destroyed his cell phone...I think!!!"

"oh, well THAT proves it, Rog..what now?"

"I, as high lord and overseer of the purest, uncompromised sports league in world history will sanction Adrian Petersen to beat Brady unconscious using a hickory rod, after which Ray Rice will repeatedly punch the unconscious Brady in the face until his arms are tired, at which point Mr. Rice will be instructed to turn over the unconscious Brady into the custody of Ray Lewis and his "knives of retribution"...may I...er... God have mercy on his cheating soul.."

Sounds about right...somebody print this up and send it to NFLN and ESPN stat..get it out there for the morning drive.

Even as someone who thinks the PR ramifications alone make wiping his phone a costly move that's screwing Brady over... Wiping your phone is exactly what you should do when you're done with it, absolutely. Wipe the phone, trash the SIM card, move on with your life. That becomes about 1000x more true when your wife is the most famous supermodel ever and there are people who would pay hundreds of thousands for any sensitive tabloid fodder that your phone might contain.

I think people need to understand that two things can simultaneously be true. 1: destroying his phones when he's done with them is something that just about anyone should do, especially a celebrity like him. And 2: if Brady destroyed/wiped his phone when he allegedly did, then that was a strategic PR blunder for exactly the reasons that we're seeing today. Even if he had a good reason to do it, it creates a ready-made headline that Goodell and ESPN can easily spoon feed to idiots.

I wish Brady had kept the phone in question while continuing to hold the line on "**** you Roger, you can't have it", or at least chosen not to divulge that it was gone. But what's done is done, and if Brady's team succeeds in arguing that the league had no right to demand his phone in the first place, then none of this stuff should matter in court, and hopefully will even help Brady since Goodell based his decision almost entirely on Brady's refusal to hand over something that he had no right to. He might as well have suspended Brady for refusing to hand over his first born.

The only real issue, in terms of PR, is the timing, and that's what the NFL is playing for full effect. This would have played out little differently if he word "destroyed" had been changed out for "replaced and gotten rid of", but people wouldn't have been so faux-shocked as they can pretend to be by a phone being destroyed.

Yes ...you should wipe your cell phone..every human being in this country should when they're done with it...EXCEPT BRADY!!!! SCARLET LETTER!!! BRAND HIM!!!!

I saw a demonstration 2 days ago at URI in South County...a couple of science nerds took an NFL official football and left it outdoors for an hour...they took the psi reading with the ball inflated to 13 psi...NOT 12.5. They then took the ball and placed it inside a temperature controlled box that approximated the field temperature of the playoff Colts game. They left it in there for 2 hours.

when they measured the ball in front of dozens witnesses outside East Hall, it came out to 11.8 psi. I saw more than a few college kids record this on their I phones, so it has to be out there somewhere on the net but...I would imagine Kessler will use far more sophisticated methods at his disposal to get the effects of temperature change on the official NFL ball with original readings ranging from 12.5 TO 13.5.

The NFL has no way out of the corner they've painted themselves into. In essence, they are flat earthers screaming for the heads of all those that provide proof the earth is a sphere. Humanity...same as it ever was...

Florio has been fantastic.

But when does Brady's party stop playing rope-a-dope and start throwing punches?

I wonder if he has a pipeline to Brady's lawyers? He's been on point more than you'd expect for one single person (maybe he has a staff?).
